Panko Shrimp aka Ebi Fry. Delicious shrimp seasoned and coated in panko crumbs and fried and served with a sriracha mayo sauce. Great as the perfect appetizer, side dish or main dish. Ready in under 30 minutes!

Quick & Easy Panko Shrimp

shrimps (jumbo size)

Panko (or as needed)

Vegetable oil (or any neutral oil)

Lemon wedges (optional for serving)

tbsp Potato starch (or cornstarch)

tbsp all purpose flour

tsp salt

garlic powder

tsp black pepper

mayonnaise (or regular mayonnaise)

tbsp sriracha sauce

Peel deveined shrimp and pat dry with paper towels.

In a small bowl, crack and beat the egg.

In a medium bowl, mix Flour mixture ingredients as listed above.

In a baking sheet or shallow dish, spread panko breadcrumbs in a single layer.

Place shrimp into flour mixture first and coat well. Shake off any excess flour. Then coat shrimp with beaten egg, and lastly with panko breadcrumbs. Make sure there are no bald spots for best results.

In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat enough oil over medium-high heat or 350 degrees F. (To air fry, see below Notes for instructions)

Once oil is hot, in small batches (4-6 pieces) deep fry shrimp for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, flipping over halfway. Do not overcrowd the pan. Note: To tell when shrimp is cooked is when they&#39;re curled.  The internal temperature of cooked shrimp is 145 degrees F with a digital instant read cooking thermometer.

Transfer the first batch of fried shrimp to a wire rack for excess oil to drip off. Repeat for the remaining shrimp.

In a bowl, combine Japanese mayo and sriracha sauce. Enjoy with shrimp and fresh lemon juice (optional).

Easy Panko Shrimp

Panko Shrimp Burger

shrimp (divided, peeled and deveined)

flour

tsp sesame oil

tsp grated ginger

Salt and pepper (to taste)

panko

sesame seed buns

Thousand Island dressing (tartar sauce

lettuce lettuce (shredded)

Place 1/2 cup of shrimp in food processor and pulse till smooth. Chop the other 1/2 cup of shrimp into bite sized pieces.

In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup blended shrimp and 1/2 cup chopped shrimp, 1 tbsp flour, sesame oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. On parchment paper shape shrimp into 2 patties (you can make this into an extra large patty if you feel like it). Cover patties with plastic wrap and place in fridge for at least 30 minutes.

Shrimp Patty

Heat oil in a deep-fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (185 degrees C).

Meanwhile, set up your dredging station with three small bowls. One containing a cup of flour, the other the beaten egg and lastly the cup of panko.

Remove shrimp patties from fridge and coat with flour, then egg and lastly panko.

Deep fry for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towel and season immediately with salt.

Toast bun and shred lettuce.

Build with bottom bun, shrimp patty, shredded lettuce and your choice of sauce (tartar sauce, thousand island etc.) and top bun.
