The instant noodle dish from Parasite is taking the internet and the world by storm! Ram-Don (more traditionally known as jjapaguri) gets an elevated twist with seared cubes of steak. This recipe is super easy to make, and crazy delicious!

Ram-Don from Parasite (Jjapaguri with Steak)

Chapagetti ((instant jajangmyeon noodles made by Nongshim))

Neoguri ((instant jjampong noodles made by Nongshim))

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large saucepan or medium pot. Add the noodles and vegetable mix from the noodle packets, and boil for about 2 to 3 minutes until barely al dente (it will cook more later). Strain the noodles into a strainer set over a large measuring cup or bowl. Reserve 1 cup of starchy water.

Meanwhile season the cubed beef with salt and pepper. Heat the oil over high heat in a skillet. Add the beef, and sear for about 1 to 2 minutes per side, or to desired doneness. Remove from the heat.

Return the large saucepan or medium pot used to cook the noodles to medium heat, add the reserved water, the strained noodles/veggies, all the black bean paste seasoning powder from the Chapagetti, ½ (or more to taste--it&#039;s spicy!) of the spicy seasoning powder from the Neoguri, and the cooked beef. Stir for 1 to 2 minutes until everything is incorporated and starting to thicken. Remove from the heat and stir in the seasoning oil from the Chapagetti.

Transfer to individual bowls and serve immediately.

This instant noodle dish, called Jjapaguri (or ram-don), from the movie Parasite is getting highly popular all over the world.  It&#x27;s easy to make at home and quite delicious!

Jjapaguri with Steak from Movie Parasite

beef

salt and pepper

olive oil oil

garlic cloves, roughly crushed - optional

pack Chapagetti (짜파게티)

pack Neoguri (너구리)

Cut the beef into bite size pieces and generously sprinkle with salt and pepper. At this point, start boiling 4 cups of water in a medium size pot.

Heat a pan with a tablespoon of olive oil or other cooking oil. Add the meat, and cook until the bottoms are nicely seared. Turn them over, and add the optional garlic. Cook/brown all sides to the slightly less than desired doneness.

When water boils, add the noodles and the vegetable mix from the packets and continue boiling for about 3 minutes. The noodles should be al dente at this point because they will be cooked again.

Transfer the noodles with a strainer to the pan with the steak, reserving the water. Pour a cup of the reserved water over the noodles. Turn the heat to medium. Add the entire packet of the Chapagetti sauce and 3/5 of the Neoguri sauce (or to taste). 

Stir everything well until the sauce is evenly distributed and slightly thickens, about a minute. Add more reserved water if needed. Turn the heat off.

Stir in the oil from Chapagetti. Serve with pickled radish or kimchi.
