Preheat oven to 375F. Line a large half sheet baking pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Slice the French bread in half, lengthwise. Place the bread, cut side up, on the lined baking sheet.

In a small mixing bowl, add butter, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper and stir to combine until smooth.

Spread the garlic mixture evenly over the halved bread. Top with mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Turn on the broiler and broil on HI for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese becomes golden brown and the edges of the bread become crispy.

4 Cheese Mac 'n' Cheese Recipe

200 g (7 oz) spiral pasta

unsalted butter

60 g (1/2 cup) plain (all-purpose) flour

480 ml (2 cups) full-fat milk

75 g (3/4 cup) mature Cheddar cheese (grated)

75 g (3/4 cup) Gouda (grated)

75 g (3/4 cup) Mozzarella (grated)

(1/2 cup) Parmesan (grated)

rashers bacon (roughly chopped)

tbsp parsley

Preheat the oven to 200C/400F (fan).

Cook the pasta in boiling water for 1 minute less than the pack instructions. Then drain.

While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat.

Once the butter has melted, gradually add the flour whilst constantly stirring with a whisk, until it becomes a thick paste.

Gradually add the milk, whilst stirring with the whisk, until combined.

Add in the cheese, reserving 1 heaped tablespoon of each type of cheese.

By now the pasta should be ready. Add the cooked and drained pasta to the pan with the white sauce. Mix together until the sauce coats the pasta.

Transfer the pasta to a baking dish and sprinkle on the reserved cheese and lightly cooked bacon.

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Sprinkle parsley on top, then serve.

Please Nicky, don't call it Mac'n'cheese.  Proper macaroni cheese is nothing like that American faux Mac'n'cheese.  We just had macroni cheese today - delish.

Wow wow wow - this is the best mac and cheese ever! My family are generally fussy eaters but they ask for this now over take out pizza. We add a twist to ours and add chorizo rather than bacon but the mix of cheeses is what I think makes this so great too. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
