Into each pint-sized mason jar, add 2 tea bags and pour 1 cup of the boiling water into each jar. Steep uncovered for 3-4 minutes.

Remove tea bags, stir in peach nectar or sugar into each jar (if using), then fill the rest of the jar with the chilled water. Screw on the lid and refrigerate at least 4 hours before enjoying.

Perfect Peach Iced Tea

Bring sugar, water, and peaches to a boil in a small saucepan. Then lower heat and use a wooden spoon to stir and crush the peaches to infuse the flavor.

Once the sugar is dissolved, cover, remove from heat and let steep for 25-30 minutes.

In the meantime, brew your tea using either a large pot or a tea maker. I use this loose leaf tea steeper from IngenuiTEA. NOTE: Use less tea if you prefer it weaker or more tea if you prefer it stronger, and try not to let it steep longer than 4-5 minutes or it can get bitter.

Once brewed, remove tea bags or strain out loose leaf tea and transfer to a pitcher. Refrigerate to cool.

Once your simple syrup is finished, pour into a bottle or container over a fine mesh strainer to strain out peaches. You can reserve the peaches for later use, such as to place over oats or ice cream sundaes.

To serve, either set out simple syrup and add as much to the tea as you like, or add all of the simple syrup to the tea and stir. I prefer leaving it separate. Serve tea over ice and fresh sliced peaches. Recipe as originally written yields about 10 servings (with ice and peaches).

How to make peach syrup - a summery peach simple syrup recipe with just 2 base ingredients and several flavor variations, perfect for peach iced tea, lemonade, cocktails, and drizzling over pancakes, waffles, and ice cream!

How to Make Peach Simple Syrup

Wash the peaches well. Then slice them into quarters (or even smaller chunks), removing the pits.

Transfer the fruit, sugar, and water to a large, heavy-bottomed pan or skillet and heat over medium heat, bringing to a boil, stirring often until the sugar dissolves.

For a clear peach simple syrup: leave the peaches to simmer for between 10-15 minutes, only gently stirring occasionally, until they begin to break down, and the mixture has reduced and thickened.For a lighter/thicker version: follow the step above but also use a potato masher to mash the fruit while it simmers.

When the peach simple syrup is ready, allow it to cool for 20-30 minutes (it will thicken as it cools). Then, pour it through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the solids. Press down the peach pieces to extract as much syrup as possible.If you mashed the peaches while simmering the syrup, you could optionally use an immersion blender to blend it until smooth for a thicker, almost sauce-like peach syrup that isn&#39;t strained of the pulp.

Pour the cooled syrup into a sterilized bottle or jar and enjoy!

Store: store the syrup in an airtight bottle in the refrigerator for 2 weeks (7 days if you left the peach pulp in it). Give it a shake before using it each time. Note that it will thicken as it cools and more so in the fridge, so it may be best to microwave for 20-30 seconds before using it.Note that if you add any extra ingredients to the syrup, this may affect the shelf life. So monitor it for any signs of spoilage (cloudiness or discoloration).Freeze: transfer the syrup to a freezer-safe jar/container or pour the syrup into an ice cube tray and freeze for 4 months. Due to the high sugar content, it won&#39;t freeze solid, so you can use it shortly after removing it from the freezer.

Peach, Orange &amp; Lemongrass Iced Tea

Crush the lemongrass stalks. Cut the lemongrass stalks in half and slightly crush them using the side of a large knife. Crushing the stalks helps them release more flavor.

Infuse the water. Fill a medium-sized saucepan with 3 cups of water. Place the lemongrass stalks in the saucepan. Bring to a boil and let simmer for about 15 minutes.

Strain. Next, remove from heat and discard the lemongrass stalks.

Add the tea. Add the peach tea bags to the saucepan and let it infuse for about 5 minutes. Once this is done, discard the peach tea bags and let the tea cool for about 30 minutes.

Squeeze the orange. In the meantime, cut the orange in half. Squeeze out the juice by hand or by using a citrus reamer. You should get about 1/2 cup of orange juice.

Combine. Finally, pour the orange juice into the lemongrass-infused tea and stir to combine. Add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved. Note: We recommend starting with only half of the sugar and adding more to taste.

Serve. To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes, canned peaches, and a slice of orange. Pour in the tea, garnish with a few leaves of mint, and enjoy! You can keep this iced tea in a jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. We found it tasted as good on day 3 as it does on day 1.
