Perfect Poached Eggs

egg (or up to 4!)

vinegar water

Individually crack eggs into individual small bowl so ramekins. Strain each egg through a fine mesh strainer &#8211; this will remove any of the loose white that cause excess whisps. After straining return each egg to their individual bowls

Fill a small pot with cold water. Add 1 tbsp of vinegar to the pot. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil. Swirl the water with a flat spatula to create a spiral. Pour eggs individually into the center of the spiral &#8211; the method works best with 1 egg at time, but I have tried up to 4 eggs.

Once you have poured your egg into the pot, immediately cover the pot, turn off the heat, and leave the pot on the burner. Leave the eggs in the covered pot for 3 minutes if you are using a gas stove and 2 minutes and 30 seconds if you are using an electric stove.

Remove the eggs from the pot with a slotted spoon. Tap the eggs to test for doneness &#8211; the whites should be solid and yolk should be runny. If the whites aren&#8217;t fully set, you can return the eggs to the water for a bit longer. 

Enjoy the eggs immediately of place in an ice bath to stop cooking and enjoy the eggs later. Cooked poached eggs will keep in the fridge for up to 7 days

In my years of honing my cooking skills, the one I’m most proud of is my ability to make a perfect poached egg. Many people think that making a perfect poached egg like this is hard. It’s really not.

Only 8 minutes to make perfect poached eggs when you make them in the Instant Pot. Poached Eggs are super easy to prepare and you will have perfect poached eggs every time!Poached eggs make a prefect egg sandwich for Sunday breakfast. 

Instant Pot Poached Eggs Recipe

eggs

butter

salt

ground pepper

parsley

Fill

Place one cup of water into the bottom of an 8 quart Instant Pot.

Load

Place a Silicone Sling into the bottom of the Instant Pot.

Arrange

Arrange 5 silicone egg poacher cups on top of the Silicone Sling.

Melt

Melt the butter in the microwave and using a pastry brush coat the insides of the egg cup molds with the melted butter.

Crack

Crack one egg open and pour it into the 1/2 cup measuring cup. Pour the egg into one of the egg cup molds. Repeat with all of the eggs until all of your egg molds are filled. Sprinkle each egg with salt, pepper and dried parsley. 

Secure

Secure the silicone sling handle by snapping the handle lock into place.

Close

Close the lid on the Instant Pot and lock it into place. Make sure the valve is set to the Sealing position.

Pressure cook

Press the manual button and set the timer for 3 minutes. Stay close by because you will need to immediately release the steam when the timer goes off and the eggs are finished pressure cooking.

Vent

When the timer beeps use a long handled spoon like a wooden spoon to  push the valve to the Venting position. Allow all of the steam to naturally release and the pin to drop. 

Uncover

Immediately and carefully remove the lid away from your face.

Remove

When the hot steam dissipates remove the silicone egg cups from the pressure cooker at once and place them in a large bowl.

Serve
