Make-Ahead Pepperoni Pizza Sliders are a super easy and fun way to serve pizza. I’m not sure which I fell in love with first, the extra cheesy fillings, or the crispy Italian topping on the bread! Either way, these are a winner with kids and adults! They are perfect for parties too!

Make Ahead Pepperoni Pizza Sliders

Dinner

Pizza Sauce (more or less to taste)

Pepperoni

mozzarella cheese (can use grated too)

butter

garlic (minced)

Italian seasoning

Parmesan cheese

sea salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cut rolls in half. Set bottom halves in a greased baking pan.

Spread pizza, or marinara sauce on the rolls in the pan.

Sprinkle a layer of grated cheese or slices of cheese over marinara.

Layer pepperoni slices over cheese.

Add another layer of cheese.

Set the top parts of the rolls back on sliders.

TO MAKE SLIDERS

Melt butter. Add garlic, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, and a little salt. Stir to combine.

Brush over the tops of the sliders.

You can either refrigerate at this point or bake.

TO MAKE TOPPING

If you are baking immediately, bake for about 10-15 minutes. You want the insides to be nice and gooey and the tops to be golden brown. If the rolls get too brown before the insides are baked, cover with aluminum foil and continue baking until insides are melted.

If you are baking later, cover sliders with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for about 10 more minutes. If cheese still isn’t melted and the tops are golden brown, recover with aluminum foil and bake a little longer.

BAKING INSTRUCTIONS

Pizza sandwich is a quick and filling snack made with bread, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, veggies, herbs and seasonings.

bread slices (- whole wheat, brown, multi grain

onion (small to medium-sized, chopped)

capsicum ((green bell pepper) - small to medium-sized, chopped)

mozzarella cheese

olive oil (for brushing,

dry oregano (and basil, or as required)

red chili flakes (or

Prep all the ingredients like chop the onions and capsicum. Prep the cheese. Slice the bread loaf.

Brush some olive oil evenly all over on the bread slices.

Spread a light layer of pizza sauce. You need to spread the sauce only on one slice of the sandwich. Don&#39;t spread it on the second slice as this can make your sandwich soggy.

Place mozzarella cheese. If using a soft cheese, you can break it and if using processed cheese or a firm cheese, then grate and add.

Sprinkle some dried oregano. You can also add some fresh basil. Or you can opt to add your choice of herbs or Italian seasoning.

Now place chopped onions and capsicum. Do not stuff too much with the veggies or cheese. You can add veggies of your choice like steamed baby corn or sweet corn. You can also add sauteed mushrooms.

Cover with the remaining bread slices.

Place in a preheated sandwich maker or panini press. Do not press the top cover of the sandwich maker too much as then the cheese may spill outside after melting.

Grill till the sandwiches are crisp and golden. Grill or toast all sandwiches this way.

Serve pizza sandwich hot or warm with tomato ketchup. You can accompany some baked potato wedges or fries if you want with the grilled pizza sandwiches.

slider rolls (,

marinara sauce (, more for dipping)

mozzarella cheese (, shredded)

pepperoni (, about 24 thin slices)

unsalted butter (, melted)

garlic powder

black pepper

coarse kosher salt

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up.

Place bottoms of rolls on the baking sheet. Spread marinara sauce evenly over rolls. Top with pepperoni slices, other desired toppings and mozzarella cheese.

Place tops back onto sliders.

Whisk together melted butter with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, black pepper and fine sea salt.

Baste over the tops of your sliders.

Bake, uncovered, for 7-10 minutes.

Remove and serve immediately.
