Growing up, I never knew anyone made potato salad with mayonaisse.  My mother always made this type of potato salad.  Sadly, I don't have her recipe but this is about as close as I can come.

German Potato Salad

potatoes

cup(s) bacon, cooked and crumbled

cup(s) onion, finely chopped

tablespoon(s) flour

teaspoon(s) sugar

teaspoon(s) salt

teaspoon(s) pepper

cup(s) vinegar (cider

water

SET ASIDE THE FOLLOWING

cup(s) finely chopped onion

parsley

teaspoon(s) celery seed

After chilling overnight, this red potato salad is so good. The dressing is slightly tangy with a hint of sweetness. As the creamy dressing sits, it soaks into the potatoes and infuses its flavor. This potato salad recipe is simple and made with few ingredients. If you need to make potato salad for a large gathering or summer BBQ, this is a great recipe because it makes a large bowl.
