Easy Rice Cooker Oatmeal with Apples and Cinnamon

apple, small diced

old-fashioned oats (or steel-cut oats)

cinnamon

brown sugar

water

salt

Add the apple, oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, water...

Add the apple, oats, cinnamon, brown sugar, water and pinch of salt into the base of the rice cooker. Close the lid and cook using the steam/cook or porridge setting (or the rice setting if that's what you have).

When the rice cooker beeps, the oatmeal is...

When the rice cooker beeps, the oatmeal is done. Let it sit for a few minutes, stir, and enjoy a warm breakfast any day of the week. Such a treat!

Rice Cooker Oatmeal is an easy &amp; nutritious breakfast recipe, a filling one-pot morning meal loaded with fruit and spices.  This hearty breakfast is customizable with your favorite seasonal fruit. Add all the ingredients to the rice cooker, press a button, and breakfast is ready in minutes. 

Rice Cooker Oatmeal

oats

fruit (finely chopped, I used one large apple)

flaxseeds

agave nectar

Salt

Add all ingredients to rice cooker, and stir well to combine.

Set Rice Cooker on 'Porridge' or 'Rice' or 'Quick Cook' mode (which ever your rice cooker model has). Oatmeal should cook for about 30 minutes. Once you've selected your mode, press Start.

Once the oatmeal is finished cooking, test and adjust seasoning as needed, adding extra agave or cinnamon as desired.

I love this recipe. I wish I found it sooner. It's so easy and would be great for kids before school. I used the flash setting on my cooker and it was done to a perfect consistency in 10-15 min.

Absolutely love this recipe! I use organic rolled oats from Trader Joe’s, raw local honey in place of agave and a cup of mixed berries for our fruit. Very delicious even my hubby likes it!
