This watermelon granita recipe is the ultimate watermelon summer refresher! Plus, it can be made with as little as ONE ingredient - fresh watermelon. However, I’ve included a whole list of optional add-ins and variations! Best of all, watermelon shaved ice requires just minutes of hands-on prep before freezing, fluffing, and enjoying.

Fresh Watermelon Granita (Watermelon Shaved Ice)

Juice the watermelon. To do so, just scoop out the watermelon flesh from the rind, place it in a large bowl, and use an immersion blender or a large blender/food processor. Blend until smooth.

I then sieve the juice to eliminate excess pulp and seeds, but this isn&#39;t necessary if you use seedless watermelon.

Pour the watermelon juice into a large, shallow tray or dish (as large as possible for your freezer).

Step 1: Prepare the watermelon

Transfer the dish to your freezer and allow it to freeze for 4-6 hours or overnight.Just note that the freezing time will differ based on the size of the dish used, so it&#39;s best to check after 4 hours, then every 2 hours after, until it&#39;s almost entirely frozen but still &quot;scrapeable.&quot;

If you want chunkier watermelon granita, there&#39;s no need to touch the melon at all during this time. Otherwise, you can remove it from the freezer every 2-3 hours and agitate/scrape with a fork for a smoother texture, or every 1-2 hours for the smoothest option.During this time, the juice shouldn&#39;t freeze entirely due to its natural sugars (especially if adding more sugar), which naturally inhibits the freezing process. Agitating it at least 1-2 times during the freezing process will make it easier to &quot;fluff up&quot; at the end, too.

After freezing, it&#39;s time to scrape the mixture into the watermelon ice. To do so, you can simply use a fork and scrape against the mixture until it fluffs up.

To serve, transfer the watermelon granita to your bowl or glass of choice, serve with a lime wedge (just a squeeze or two tastes delicious over the watermelon ice mixture!), and some fresh mint leaves. I also topped mine with a dash of tajin (a combination of chili, lime, and salt).

Step 2: Freeze the mixture

Once &quot;scraped&quot;/fluffed up into watermelon granita texture, you can keep the mixture in a container in the freezer for up to 5 days. Then, just re-fluff it a little bit just before serving, and you&#39;re good to go!

How to Store Watermelon Granita

This easy slush is naturally sweetened with no added sugar. It&#39;s made with just 3 whole food ingredients, and is a perfect summertime refreshment!

Strawberry Watermelon Slush

watermelon (frozen*)

strawberries (fresh

lime juice (about 1 juicy lime)

Ice cubes, fresh mint, fresh basil

Prepare + freeze watermelon: Cube watermelon (rind removed) and place in freezer* for 2 hours or longer.

When ready to make the slush, rinse and hull the strawberries. (Or simply use frozen strawberries.)

Place frozen watermelon, strawberries, and fresh lime juice in blender. Blend until slushy and serve immediately.

HOW TO MAKE SWEET &amp; TART WATERMELON LEMONADE. EASY RECIPE WITH SIMPLE INGREDIENTS. PERFECT REFRESHING SUMMERTIME DRINK!

Fresh Watermelon Lemonade

watermelon (or enough to make 4 cups watermelon juice)

lemons (or enough to make 1 cup lemon juice)

sugar

water water

Scoop watermelon into a blender or food processor.

Process until liquid.

Strain watermelon through a mesh strainer, reserving 4 cups of watermelon juice and discarding the watermelon flesh.

Pour the watermelon juice into a pitcher. Set aside.

Juice the lemons to equal 1 cup (use more if you prefer it really tart. I used 4 large lemons and got 1 cup of lemon juice)

Strain the lemon juice and add it to the pitcher.

Add in water.

Stir in sugar to sweeten to desired taste.

Serve immediatley over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices.

It's very refreshing and all the flavours go well together, it's just perfect.

Fresh Watermelon Lemonade Recipe ~ Summer Drinks!

Try this copycat Tim Hortons Iced Capp recipe! Make it in under 5 minutes at home, and it tastes just like the real thing!

Tim Hortons Iced Capp Recipe

instant coffee granules

tbsp sugar

tsp vanilla extract

heavy cream ((see notes for substitutions))

ice cubes ((about 10-12))

Mix boiling water, instant coffee granules, sugar, and vanilla extract in a cup. Stir until sugar is dissolved.

Put the coffee mixture in the freezer and let it cool for 5 minutes.

Add the coffee mixture, heavy cream, and ice cubes to a blender and blend for 1 minute until smooth.

Pour into a cup and enjoy!

I doubled this recipe up to 2 servings. I was expecting it to be heavy but its not. Hubby can’t get enough of it! Thanks for the recipe.
