Smoked Flanken Ribs (Traeger Korean Kalbi Beef) Recipe | Sip Bite Go

2.5 LB Korean Short Ribs (AKA Flanken Ribs)

soy sauce

tbsp honey

red wine vinegar

tbsp sesame oil (substitute olive oil)

lime (juiced)

garlic

tsp red pepper flakes

cilantro (fresh)

red pepper (diced (marinated in jar), optional)

tsp cilantro (fresh chopped)

tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

make flanken rib marinade

Make the smoked Korean short ribs marinade. Combine and whisk all ingredients together in a large bowl. (If desired, remove 1/4 cup of the marinade and set it aside so it doesn’t touch the raw meat) for serving the ribs. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Add short ribs, toss them to coat evenly, and marinade for ideally 2 hours, up to overnight, in the refrigerator.

When it’s time to smoke flanken ribs, preheat the Traeger smoker pellet grill to high 500℉ for 15 minutes with the lid closed.

remove ribs from marinade

Remove ribs from marinade and throw away the remaining marinade that touched the raw meat.

Once the pellet grill is heated to 500℉, Add the short ribs to the grill grates. Close the lid and smoke flanken ribs for 5 minutes. Flip and smoke for another 3 minutes-5 minutes. They should be completely tender.

Serve with a sprinkle of diced red pepper, cilantro and sesame seeds.

Roasted red pepper (the kind that comes marinated in jar) 
Sesame seeds
