Instant Pot Spare Ribs is an easy fall off the bone tender rib recipe. BBQ ribs that are almost as good as slow-smoked bbq ribs. Give this pressure cooker rib recipe. You can also make these ribs in the Ninja Foodi as well.

Instant Pot Spare Ribs

brown sugar

pepper

coarse kosher salt

Rack of Spare ribs (can do up to 2)

Start by making your dry up. In a bowl add your brown sugar, pepper, salt, smoked paprika, chili powder, dry mustard, onion powder, garlic powder. Mix and set aside.

Now you will prep your spare ribs. Remove excess fat, cut off the membrane on the backside of ribs, and cut off the excess flap on ribs on back as well.

Once ribs are prepped you will use part of the rub on one side and then flip and massage the other part of rib rub on the other side of ribs. Wrap and then marinate in the fridge for up to an hour.

When ready to cook place the metal trivet in the Instant Pot, add in 1 1/2 cup water, 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar, and 3-5 drops of liquid smoke.

Put your ribs in meat facing out, so the bones will face inward. Try to set them up on the metal rack. Mine spare ribs were a bit too big so I did have to push them in the water a bit.

Place Instant Pot lid on in sealing position making sure the valve is closed.

Pressure cook 35 minutes with a natural release of 15 minutes.

Remove ribs from the pressure cooker, and place on air fryer rack in duo crisp or a pan to broil in the oven.

Baste ribs with barbecue sauce, and then air fry to make sauce sticky or toss in the oven on broil. This takes just a couple of minutes to do.

Remove, slice, and serve these Instant Pot bbq pork ribs. I sprinkled mine with parsley and served.

Instant Pot Spare Ribs and Rice

(15 milliliters) oil

(345 grams) Jasmine rice (, rinsed)

1½ cup (375 milliliters) cold water

(22.5 grams) black bean sauce

(15 milliliters) regular soy sauce

(15 milliliters) Shaoxing wine

(15 grams) ginger (, grated)

(14 grams) garlic cloves (, minced)

(5 milliliters) sesame oil

(4 grams) sugar

white pepper

(5 milliliters) fish sauce ((optional))

onions (, finely sliced)

Thai chili (, finely chopped (Optional))

Marinate Spare Ribs: In a mixing bowl, marinate spare ribs with Black Bean Marinade for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight in the fridge.

Pressure Cook Spare Ribs and Rice: Mix marinated ribs with 1 tbsp (15ml) oil, then place in Instant Pot. Try to fill the whole Instant Pot bottom with a single layer of spare ribs. Then, layer 1½ cup (345g) Jasmine rice on the spare ribs. Add 1½ cup (375ml) cold water. If the rice is rinsed, drain well and use 1 1/4 cup (310ml) cold water instead. Ensure all the rice are submerged in liquid. Pressure cook at High Pressure for 13 minutes, then 10 minutes Natural Release.*Pro Tip: Ensure spare ribs are at the bottom, then rice on top.

Season and Serve Instant Pot Spare Ribs and Rice: Fluff and gently mix the spare ribs and rice. Taste and season with more salt or soy sauce if necessary. Garnish with finely sliced green onion. Add Thai chili to spice it up! Serve immediately. :)

Grilled BBQ Pork Spare Ribs

2.5 lbs pork spare ribs

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.  Set aside

Dry Rub Blend

Wash the slab of ribs with cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Remove the membrane on the back side by placing a paring knife underneath the membrane and gently pull it back from one end of the slab to the other end and discard. If it&#039;s slippery, you can use a paper towel so you&#039;ll have a better grip when pulling the membrane back. (Note: I find that there isn&#039;t a difference in removing the membrane, so I tend to omit that particular step).  Remove any excess fat by cutting it off with a sharp knife and discard.

Place the ribs in a roasting pan or baking sheet.  Season the slab of ribs with kosher salt and a generous amount of dry rub. Gently massage the dry rub into the ribs then lightly press into the ribs with your hands. Place plastic wrap over the ribs and allow the ribs to marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour up to 24 hours.

After the ribs have marinated, place on the countertop and bring to room temperature.  Meanwhile, fire up the grill using your process and when the grill is ready, position the slab of pork ribs on the grill grates and close the lid.  Grill on one side for 30 minutes then flip and grill the other side for 30 to 40 minutes.

By this time, the ribs should have a beautiful brown crispy outer coating and no longer pink. Remove the ribs from the grill and place them in a clean roasting pan or baking sheet.  At this point, slather on your favorite BBQ sauce if you like. Place the ribs in a 330 degree preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes to tenderize the ribs more.

Allow the ribs to cool a bit.  Using a sharp knife, cut the slab into individual ribs by cutting alongside each rib bone and serve.
