Spicy Korean Tofu - quick and easy Korean braised tofu with chili powder, garlic, soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil. This Korean side dish (banchan) is healthy and delicious.

Cut the tofu into rectangle shapes, about 1/4-inch...

Cut the tofu into rectangle shapes, about 1/4-inch thickness. Pat dry with paper towels. Mix all the ingredients in the Sauce together. Set aside.

Heat up a non-stick skillet on medium heat...

Heat up a non-stick skillet on medium heat and add the oil. When the oil is heated, add the tofu and pan fry until brown on both sides. Add the sauce to the skillet and lower the heat. Simmer the tofu until the sauce reduces but still somewhat wet. Turn the tofu over to simmer on both sides.

Transfer to a serving platter and top with chopped scallions. Serve at room temperature.

Spicy Gochujang Sesame Tofu. Fried tofu smothered in a delicious, spicy saucy gochujang based sauce with a hint of sesame. This vegan gochujang Korean tofu is quick to make in under 30 minutes or less and is fantastic for lunch or dinner. It is also great for meal prep too!

Spicy Gochujang Sesame Tofu (30-min. Recipe)

tofu (extra firm,

green onion (sliced (optional garnish))

vegetable oil

tbsp gochujang

soy sauce (not light or dark!)

tsp gochugaru

tsp sesame oil

sesame seeds

cornstarch

tsp white granulated sugar

Strain the water from your tofu and allow the tofu to sit in a colander for a couple of minutes. Then pat dry with a clean towel. Slice into bite size rectangles.

In a small bowl, whisk together your glaze ingredients until well combined.

Then in a non-stick pan set over medium heat, add your cooking oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully lower tofu into the pan and fry on both sides for 7 minutes, or golden crispy brown.

Once tofu is golden and crispy, pour in the glaze and let it simmer over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until thick, smooth and glossy.

Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with green onions (optional).
