What do you prefer serving with your glazed ham?

Enjoyed the glaze but was afraid to try cooking without foil over the top. Also the water was not enough and had to replenish. Would like a wine pairing suggestion.

I used this recipe for Easter this year and it turned out great! The glaze was perfect- it added a nice sweet touch.

Wow! Fabulous as promised! Moist and delicious. I didn't have apricot jam, so substituted orange fig jam.

This Pomegranate Maple Glazed Ham is covered with a sticky sweet tangy glaze made with pomegranate juice, coconut sugar, dijon, maple syrup and warm spices. An easy holiday ham recipe guaranteed to be the star of your dinner table.

Pomegranate Maple Glazed Ham

lb. fulled cooked spiral bone-in ham

pomegranate juice

maple syrup

coconut sugar

dijon mustard

cinnamon

clove

allspice

Tightly wrap the entire ham with tin foil and place on a rack, fat side down, in a roasting pan. Fill roasting pan with 2-3 cups of water.

Bake on middle rack of oven for 1 1/2 hours or until internal temperature is 120°F.

In the meantime, to a small sauce pan add pomegranate juice, maple syrup, coconut sugar, dijon mustard, ground cinnamon, ground clove and ground allspice. Whisk together and bring to a slow boil, stirring throughout. Once sauce has thickened, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Remove ham from oven and open the top part of the tin foil so ham is exposed. Liberally apply pomegranate maple glaze to the ham. (I use about half) Return ham the oven, uncovered, and bake for another 30 minutes.

Remove ham from oven and let rest for 10 minutes.

Pecan Praline Glazed Ham is a showstopper! A sweet glaze made of butter and maple syrups gets baked into the ham before getting a coat of crushed pecans and brown sugar. Add sweet potatoes around the ham while baking to soak up all that pecan praline goodness.

Pecan Praline Glazed Ham

unsalted butter

maple syrup (divided)

brown sugar

pecans

sweet potatoes (peeled and chopped)

Preheat oven to 325°F/163°C. Be sure oven rack is in the center of the oven.

Remove ham from the package and discard the liquid from the packaging. Place the ham cut side down in a large baking dish or roasting pan.

Place cut sweet potatoes in the pan around the ham. Set aside.

In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt 4 Tablespoons of butter.

Stir in ½ cup of maple syrup to the melted butter.

Brush the melted butter syrup on to the spiral ham.

Place the prepared ham into the preheated oven to bake for 1 ½ hours.

When it has 30 minutes left to cook, remove it from the oven. Set aside.

In a small mixing bowl, stir together brown sugar and pecans.

Place this mixture all over the ham. Return the ham back to the oven to finish cooking.

To make the final glaze, In a small saucepan over medium heat combine remaining 4 Tablespoons of butter and the remaining ½ cup of maple syrup.

While whisking, bring this mixture up to a slight bubble and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Remove ham from the oven and drizzle the ham with the glaze.

Slice and serve.

I've made this three times over the past year and every time it's exceptionally good! This is my new go to recipe. Thank you!!

Spiral ham smoked at 250-275°F and glazed with honey, brown sugar, Tony Chachere's Ham & Bacon Injectable, and crispy bacon bits. Perfect for holidays or BBQ gatherings.

Sweet Heat Honey Bacon Glazed Smoked Spiral Ham

bacon (cooked crispy and crumbled)

apple juice, pineapple juice,

honey

Tony Chachere's Ham & Bacon Injectable (mixed per package instructions)

apple cider vinegar

garlic powder

black pepper

Prepare bacon and glaze components: Cook ½ pound bacon in oven at 400°F for 15-20 minutes until crispy. Drain, cool, and crumble into small pieces. Mix Tony Chachere's Ham & Bacon Injectable per package instructions. Gather remaining glaze ingredients.

Preheat smoker and prepare ham: Set pellet smoker to 250-275°F. Preheat 10-15 minutes with apple, cherry, maple, or pecan pellets. Remove ham from packaging, pat dry. Place cut side down in foil pan. Optional: add ½ cup apple juice to pan bottom. Smoke 1 to 1½ hours until 120-125°F internal.

Make glaze: In saucepan over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons butter. Add honey, brown sugar, prepared Tony Chachere's injectable, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar. Simmer 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly. Add red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and black pepper. Simmer 2-3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in crispy bacon bits.

Apply first glaze coat: When ham reaches 120-125°F, brush generous coat of honey bacon glaze over entire exterior. Work glaze between spiral cuts with silicone brush. Let bacon bits fall between slices. Return to smoker uncovered.

Build glaze layers: Continue smoking until 135-140°F internal temperature. Apply second glaze coat at 130°F. Apply third coat at 135°F. Each application builds caramelized layers. Monitor closely to prevent burning. Reduce to 225°F if edges darken too much.

Rest and finish: Remove ham when internal temp reaches 135-140°F. Rest 10-15 minutes. Optional: drizzle with warm honey and sprinkle with Tony Chachere's seasoning and red pepper flakes. Serve from pan or transfer to cutting board.
