Braise your new-season vegetables in rich butter with a sprinkle of sugar to bring out the sweetness

Place the carrots in a wide, shallow pan, add just enough water to cover them, then add the sugar and butter. Simmer over a medium heat until the liquid has evaporated and the carrots are cooked through – they should be glazed and shiny. Season and serve.

Slow Cooker Sweet Carrots

(2 lbs) baby carrots

Spray the insert of the slow cooker with cooking spray. Pour the chicken broth in and then dump the carrots into the slow cooker.&nbsp;

Sprinkle the salt and brown sugar over the carrots. Place the small chunks of butter evenly over top.

Cover with the lid and cook on LOW heat for 5-7 hours.&nbsp;

I like to serve the carrots with some of the sweet sauce in the slow cooker to keep them moist.&nbsp;

Place the carrots in a small pot with 1 cup of water (approximately), enough water to cover the carrots by about half. Add the sugar and salt to the water.

Bring the carrots to a boil and let boil uncovered for 5-7 minutes, testing after 5 minutes, until tender.

Drain any remaining water and return the carrots to the hot pot. Add the butter and swirl to coat and melt.

Serve as a small side dish to your favorite dinner. enjoy!

I added turmeric, a bunch of salt, half a cup of green onions and a lot of ginger and paprika. Came out super good, oh and I used 6 large eggs. My whole fam loved it. 
By itself the recipe seemed a tad plain
