Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme Recipe

lb ground meat

taco seasoning mix

burrito size flour tortillas

tostada shells

sour cream

lettuce

tomato

In a skillet or large cooking pan, cook and crumble the ground beef over medium-high heat. When it is no longer pink, drain the grease.

Place meat back into the pan and stir the taco seasoning mix as well as the water it calls for on the packet. Cook according to the package instructions.

Warm up the nacho cheese sauce in the microwave and set aside.

Place the flour tortillas on a plate and warm in the microwave for about 20 seconds.

Lay one tortilla on a flat surface. Spread a couple of tablespoons of nacho cheese in the middle of the tortilla.

Place ½ cup of taco meat on top of the nacho cheese.

Next, add the tostada shell, a thin layer of sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and lastly, the shredded Mexican cheese.

To fold into the actual crunchwrap, start with the bottom of the tortilla and fold the edge up to the center of the fillings. Keep doing that, folding as tight as possible, as you work your way around the tortilla.

Spray another skillet or cooking pan with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Place the crunchwrap supreme, seam-side down, onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 min., or until golden brown.

Flip over and cook the other side for another 2-3 min or until golden brown.

Cook the rest of your crunchwraps and eat immediately.

This recipe was AWESOME! I made it tonight for dinner with leftover tortillas and homemade nacho cheese sauce. After taking two bites, but before saying anything, hubby took a pic and sent a short video message to his buddies ranting and raving and said that Taco Bell had some serious competition!  I did have to add smaller "regular" size tortillas on top of the shredded cheese, as my gap was too big. Very flavorful and simple. Now I have a whole sleeve if tostadas to use up... Any ideas? 😉

How to Make Taco Bell Tacos

masa harina

chili powder

onion powder

garlic powder

seasoning salt

paprika

cumin

garlic salt

sugar

onion

beef bouillon powder

chuck

taco shells

cheddar cheese

iceberg lettuce, shredded

roma tomatoes (diced)

Sour cream (optional)

Beef Filling

Mix together all the ingredients except the meat. Stir the spice mix well to make sure that all spices have been blended well.

Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet (preferably nonstick) and brown, stirring well. Remove from the heat. Dump the meat into a strainer in the sink, rinse with hot water, and drain off the water and grease from the beef. Return the beef to the pan. Stir in the spice mix and 3/4 to 1 cup water. Simmer on medium-low heat for 20 minutes, until most of the moisture has cooked away. Remove from heat before the meat is completely dry.

Tacos
If you like, you can refresh the taco shells in the oven at 350 degrees F for 7 to 10 minutes.

To assemble the tacos, into each shell spoon a couple of tablespoons of the meat. Top with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and sour cream if desired. Serve immediately.

Return the beef to the pan and stir in the spice mix and 3/4 to 1 cup of water. Simmer uncovered on medium-low heat for 20 minutes, until most of the moisture has cooked away. Remove the pan from the heat before the meat is completely dry.

To make the sauce, combine all the ingredients for the sauce in a saucepan and mix well. Simmer at a very low temperature for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool.

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

To assemble the Enchirito, spread 1/4 of the heated refried beans onto a tortilla, followed by 1/4 of the ground beef. Roll up the tortilla and place it seam-side down in an ovenproof dish coated with non-stick spray. Repeat with remaining tortillas. Cover with the prepared sauce, cheese, chopped onions, and black olives, if desired.

Place the Enchiritos in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese melts.

A copycat of the fast-food favorite, this Taco Bell Beefy Melt Burrito is stuffed with seasoned beef, beans and rice, Fritos, and more!

Taco Bell Beefy Melt Burrito

beef

(1 oz) packet taco seasoning

water (or beef broth)

refried beans (optional)

cooked Mexican rice (or instant Mexican rice)

Burrito sized flour tortillas

cheese dip (warmed (like Tostitos))

Salsa (if desired)

Cook the beef in a sauté pan, breaking apart the meat as it cooks, until no longer pink. Then add the taco seasoning and water and stir, cook for another minute. Stir in the refried beans. (If the meat and bean mixture is a little too thick, add a little more water till desired consistency.)

Cook your instant Mexican rice or warm leftover rice. Heat the tortillas in the microwave for 30 seconds.

Assemble: Lay a tortilla flat and add a couple of tablespoons of the meat mixture into the middle of the tortilla. Add a couple of tablespoons of rice over the meat. Layer with fritos, a large spoonful of cheese dip, some shredded cheese and a spoonful of sour cream. Fold the sides in, then start rolling from one end to roll into a burrito. Repeat with the remaining burritos.

You can serve them as is, or heat them in a pan on the stove over medium heat to toast/crisp the outside. Serve immediately with salsa, if desired.

In a medium skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat, using a spatula or wooden spoon to chop meat into very small pieces.

Add taco seasoning and water; stir and bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.Transfer meat to a bowl and keep warm.

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Clean the skillet and fill with 1/2-inch of frying oil. Heat over medium high heat until oil reaches 350°F. Meanwhile, heat refried beans and enchilada sauce in the microwave.

Gently drop one flour tortilla into the hot oil, frying on each side for 2-3 minutes, or until it bubbles up and becomes golden brown.Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Place a fried tortilla on a baking sheet. Spread 1/4 cup of refried beans over the tortilla, then spread 1/4 cup of the meat over the refried beans.

Place a second tortilla on top of the meat. Spoon 1/4 cup of enchilada sauce (or desired amount) over the top of the stacked tortilla and top with cheese (1/4 cup or desired amount).

Assemble as many pizzas as will fit on the baking sheet and place in oven. Bake for about 5 minutes, or until cheese melts. Remove pan with pizzas from the oven.

Sprinkle pizza tops with tomatoes and any other toppings you’d like. Cut into fourths and serve immediately.

Instead of enchilada sauce, we went with Taco Bell mild sauce in a jar from the supermarket! And used the finely shredded cheese like TB has on their tacos. It melted just like theirs. The TB mild sauce for the topping adds another level of “copycat.”
