This tater tot open faced waffle is the base for crisp bacon, fried eggs and topped with a queso cheese sauce. And yeah! Don't forget the pickled jalapenos on top!

Defrost tater tots. Heat waffle iron and place the tater tots in waffle iron. Each waffle iron is different but in mine it takes 2 &#8211; 3 minutes to cook them until crisp.

Fry bacon while tots are cooking. Use your preferred method or check out my microwave method below.

Fry eggs. If you fry your bacon in a pan then use the bacon grease to fry your eggs.

Heat up queso as per directions on container.

Assemble by placing bacon on tater tot waffle, top with bacon or ham, top with fried egg. Drizzle with cheese sauce and top with pickled jalapenos.

Just put a stack of those tater tot waffles in front of me and I will eat them all! YUM! But probably an open-faced sandwich would be a more prudent route---I'll take mine with scrambled eggs and your toppings! So yummy!!

Abbe, this is a brilliant idea! I would have never thought of this but boy am I glad you shared this post. So I'm going to pull out my waffle maker that is in the back of my cabinet and give this a try. Also, I love breakfast for dinner. It's one of my favorites.

Waffle Iron Tater Tots

tater tots ((about 28))

egg ((optional, but highly recommended))

preheat waffle iron, defrost and cook tater tots in the microwave

Preheat the waffle iron on med-high heat. Place the frozen tater tots in a microwave-safe bowl and defrost for 1 minute. Stir the tots and place them back in the microwave and cook for 2 minutes. They should be unfrozen by now (or mostly). If they are a little mushy, don&#039;t worry, they crisp right up in the waffle iron.

Place the tater tots in the middle of the waffle maker and close the lid as much as you can

Open the hot waffle iron and carefully place the tater tots in the middle, spreading them out in a circle (or square if that is the shape of your waffle maker). Press down the lid as much as you can. As the tater tots cook, you can press down more.

Cook for 4-5 minutes until brown and crispy, ejoy right away

Cook the tater tot waffle for 4-5 minutes. Continue to check on the waffle as it&#039;s cooking to make sure it doesn&#039;t burn. The tater tots will turn a nice dark brown and should be crispy. Carefully remove the waffle using a fork. Enjoy immediately!
