Shrimp Etouffee Recipe

salted butter

all-purpose flour

onion

celery

green peppers

chicken stock

white wine

tomato paste

tomatoes, drained (1 can)

creole seasoning

garlic powder

cayenne pepper

Worcestershire sauce

lemon juice

hot sauce

shrimp

Salt and pepper

heavy whipping cream

rice

Garnish with chopped parsley and green onion

In a medium sized pan, melt butter over medium heat. Thoroughly stir in flour making sure there are no lumps to begin the roux. Allow the roux to develop, stirring frequently for about 9-10 minutes (until dark but make sure it doesn't burn).

Next stir in onions, celery and green peppers and cook for a few minutes until tender, frequently stirring.

Pour in chicken stock and white wine then add tomato paste and diced tomatoes and whisk together everything.

Season with creole seasoning, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and hot sauce.

Allow the mixture to cook for 10-12 minutes over medium heat to come together and begin to thicken then add the shrimp and salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 10 minutes on a lower heat with the lid on.

Stir in heavy whipping cream then cook for 2-3 more minutes until thickened. Serve over rice and garnish with chopped parsley and green onion.

Southern Smothered Chicken - Fried chicken breasts smothered in a traditional and delicious&nbsp;brown gravy with onions creates the perfect classic southern smothered chicken dish.

Southern Smothered Chicken

chicken breasts (or thighs)

garlic

water

worcestershire sauce

Rice

parsley

Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in large pan over medium heat.

Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper to taste.

Dredge chicken breasts lightly in 1/2 cup of flour then brown in skillet on both sides.

Once browned, remove chicken from skillet and drain on paper towel. Set aside.

Next scrap the bottom of the pan getting up all of the browned bits.

Add the onion slices to the pan and saute' for about 5 minutes until a bit browned and tender.

Add minced garlic and saute' for 1 minute.

Next add 1 additional tablespoon of oil to skillet then sprinkle on remaining flour.

Allow the flour to brown then pour in chicken stock and water and whisk together.

Turn heat to high to bring to a boil and season with salt and pepper.

Whisk in worcestershire sauce then turn heat down to medium.

Add back in chicken and put lid on pan. Allow the sauce to thicken until it coats the back of a spoon and chicken is nice and tender.

Serve over rice and garnish with parsley if you desire.

How to Make Pizza Dough - Perfect Neapolitan Pizza!

instant yeast

Add all-purpose flour, salt, sugar and instant yeast to a medium sized bowl. Quickly combine the dry mixture with a whisk.

Next, add water to mix and use a whisk to make sure everything is mixed together.

Do a little kneading and form a ball.

Take a large bowl and coat with quality olive oil. Add the dough to the bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise at room temperature for at least 2 hours but longer is better.

When ready, roll out the dough and start making some pizza!

This recipe is so tasty - the crust is a great thickness and it turns out nice and crispy. I’ve made this dough a handful of times now and it is always a success! It’s a great dough if you want a quality neopolitain crust but don’t want 24 hours prep. Highly recommend :)

Love this recipe! I’ve been looking for a new go-to pizzas base recipe and this one’s a winner! I made this in my Thermomix, so no hand kneading which was great. Puffed up lovely  around the edges of my pizza too!

I made your dough recipe .. let it rest for 24 hours; it was perfect .. pizzas , small,  took 1 minute to cook ‍
I made 8 of them , 1 after the other .. they were sooo fantastic.
My favourite was a thick bechamel that had goat cheese chunks mixed in, fresh shrimp cut into 1/3’s, fresh figs &amp; a bit of grated provolone
