Turmeric Braised Chicken with Golden Beets and Leeks

Preheat the oven to 425°F.

Slice the leeks in half lengthwise. Rinse them, fanning out the outer layers to wash away any grit. Slice the cleaned leeks into thin half-moons.

Remove the greens from the beets. Rinse them and coarsely chop. Halve the beets and cut each section into four wedges.

In a large mixing bowl, toss the leeks, beets, and beet greens together with the garlic, 1 teaspoon of turmeric, ginger, salt, lemon juice, and olive oil until thoroughly combined. Spoon the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish or casserole pan and arrange in an even layer.

Add the chicken and the other teaspoon of turmeric to the mixing bowl and toss to coat in the remaining turmeric mixture. Transfer the chicken legs to the baking dish and nestle in the beet mixture.

Drizzle any of the remaining marinade over the top of the chicken and pour the wine around the sides of the dish.

Roast, uncovered, until the chicken is fork-tender and the beets are soft, about 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 425F.

In a large mixing bowl, toss the shallots, yams, together with the garlic, 1 teaspoon of turmeric, garlic powder, ginger, 1 teaspoon salt, and olive oil until thoroughly combined.

Spoon the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish or casserole pan and arrange in an even layer.

Add the chicken to the mixing bowl and season with lemon juice, remaining 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon turmeric, and Herbs de Provence, toss to coat well.

Transfer the chicken legs to the baking dish over the vegetables.

Cover with foil and roast 45 minutes, turn chicken and sweet potatoes and finish, uncovered, until the chicken is fork-tender and the sweet potatoes are soft, about 15 minutes. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and serve.

These rosemary chicken fillets with turmeric are flavoured with herbs and spice, and make for an easy weeknight dinner. Pan fried rather than baked, they are quick to make with minimal &#39;hands on&#39; cook time. A dairy-free and low histamine recipe. Serves 2 people.

Rosemary chicken fillets (pan fried)

Place the chicken breast fillets in a bowl and add the apple juice, oil, garlic, turmeric, rosemary, salt and pepper (if using). Combine so the fillets are coated in the herbs and spices. Cover the bowl and marinate in the fridge for an hour or so (low histamine readers see note above).

In a large pan, heat a little oil and then fry the chicken fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through. Use a meat thermometer for an internal temperature of 165F or ensure the chicken is white throughout.

Today, I prepared a simple and delicious Malaysian-style turmeric chicken. 
While some people may not prefer deep-fried food, I occasionally enjoy it. 
To enhance the flavors, I marinated the chicken overnight with turmeric, other spices, and yogurt, ensuring a rich taste throughout the meat. 
I deep-fried the chicken twice to achieve ultimate crispiness, yielding results similar to the fried chicken in local Malay and Mamak restaurants.

Turmeric chicken- easy Malaysian fried chicken recipe

Sheet Pan Turmeric Chicken and Rice is infused with a harmonious blend of flavors. By baking everything on one pan, the rice is saturated with fragrant chickeny goodness and because it's baked on a sheet pan there's tons of those crispy rice pieces everyone loves. I paired mine with Aloo Gobi for an aromatic Shabbat meal.

Sheet Pan Turmeric Chicken and Rice

lemon

garlic cloves, finely grated or minced

Place sheet pan on middle rack in oven and heat oven to 450 degrees.

While the oven is heating, marinate the chicken. In a large bowl, combine lemon juice, garlic, ginger, 1½ teaspoons of the salt, turmeric, coriander and pepper, and mix well.&nbsp; To the large bowl, add chicken and toss until the pieces are well coated; let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes.

While the chicken is marinating, toss the cooked rice with the remaining 1½ teaspoons salt, scallion whites and 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil (the best way to do this is with clean hands/or wearing gloves). Add a little more oil if needed to fully coat the rice so that it crisps up in the oven.

Add the remaining 2 tablespoons oil to the chicken pieces, tossing well to coat.

Use a large spoon to carefully spread the rice out on the hot sheet pan, then make divots in the rice for the chicken, making sure the sheet pan is exposed. Place chicken, skin side up, in the divots touching the pan. Drizzle the rice and chicken with a little more extra-virgin olive oil.

Roast until the chicken is deeply browned on top, cooked through and the rice is crisp at the edges, 50 to 60 minutes.

Stir up the rice on the baking sheet, so the crisp parts get mixed into the soft part of the rice, and the turmeric mixture gets distributed. (Taste rice and add a little more oil, lemon juice and salt if necessary; rice can take a lot of seasoning.) Top everything with scallion greens and chopped fresh cilantro, and serve.
