This microwave simple syrup recipe is the perfect liquid sweetener for drinks, desserts, waffles, and more.

Microwave Simple Syrup - Easy And Quick Recipe

water

white granulated sugar

Mix ingredients. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine water and sugar. Stir with a fork or a spoon.

Heat in microwave. Microwave the mixture for 2 to 2.5 minutes.

Check consistency. The sugar should be completely dissolved. If the mixture looks clear with no sugar at the bottom, your syrup is ready. If the sugar hasn&#39;t fully dissolved yet, place it back into the microwave for 10-20 seconds and check again. Repeat as necessary until the syrup looks clear.

Cool down. Let the syrup sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. Then transfer it to an airtight container or glass jar for storage.

A simple jelly make from konnyaku powder, jam, and citrus peel.

Konnyaku Powder Jelly (3-Ingredient Candy)

konnyaku powder (125

water (500 ml)

tbsp jam (apricot, orange, strawberry, etc)

orange (zest only)

malic/citric acid (1 packet of this should come with your konnyaku powder)

lavender, shaved coconut, edible flowers, more citrus peel, fruit, etc.

Pour konnyaku jelly powder into a medium-sized pot.

Slowly add water and stir continuously to prevent clumps from forming.

Add orange zest &amp; jam. Bring to a boil.

Remove from heat, and add malic acid (optional). Stir well.

Place any optional toppings into the molds (or leave them empty if you don&#39;t want any toppings).

Pour the konnyaku powder mixture into the molds until full.

Let the mixture come to room temperature before placing it in the fridge for 3 hours to set. You can also leave it to set overnight.

Hi my jelly has turned liquid again after two days covered with film in the fridge, is this normal? Should I heat it up a little and add more konjac?
Would you mix konjac with other thickeners or gelling ingredients like xanthan or agar?

I didn't believe this would turn out as well as it did! Actually surprised at myself for being able to make somethign that looks as cool as this. Thank you for making me look awesome in front of my friends haha!

Easy vegan oatmeal cookies that are baked within 10 minutes!

Vegan Oatmeal Cookies

130 g oats ((any oats are fine))

g wholemeal flour

½ tsp baking soda

salt

cinnamon

g brown sugar

45 g white caster sugar ((equals about ¼ cup))

tbsp chia seeds

butter

peanut butter ((equals about half a cup))

banana (mashed up)

g chocolate chips

cranberries

hazelnuts (chopped)

Combine all your dry ingredients: oats, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, brown and white sugar.

Mix well using a fork or a whisk. Set aside.

Make a chia egg by combining 4 tbsp of boiling hot water and 1 tbsp of chia seeds. Stir well until no lumps remain. Put aside to set for 5 minutes.

Mix all your wet ingredients: vegan butter, peanut butter, mashed up banana and chia egg.

Pour your wet mixture oven your dry mixture and mix well using a fork or a silicone spatula.

Decide on your toppings/flavour addition: I recommend dark chocolate chips for one half and cranberries and chopped hazelnuts for the other half of your batter. 

If you’re making two different flavours, split your mixture in half. Fold in dark chocolate chips for one half of your mixture and fold in cranberries + chopped hazlenuts for the second half of your mixture. 

If you’re just making one flavour, no need to split the mixture - simply just double the amount of toppings you see written in the Ingredients part above. 

Line a baking sheet with baking paper and measure out your cookies: I  I used a 1/8 measuring cup for each cookie. This mixture should make approx. 20 cookies.

Press down the cookies using a fork to create 4 parallel lines across the middle as seen in the step-by-step instruction photos above. 

Bake at 375°F / 190°C (fan oven) for 10-12 minutes. If not using a fan oven, bake at 392°F / 200°C.

Made these today with my daughter. They’re really delicious! I love how easy the recipe is too. My 7 year old had no trouble following it and weighing out all the ingredients. Thanks for this great recipe!
