With only 4 ingredients, Lake Michigan Walleye never tasted so good!! When cooked, fresh walleye fillets are super tender and bright white in color.

Oven-Baked Walleye Recipe

Walleye Fillets 2 lbs (973 g)

Onion, White - Sliced 1/2 cup (1.25 oz) (35 g)

Olive Oil 1 tablespoon (0.55 oz) (16 g)

Lawry's, seasoned salt 1/2 teaspoon (0.1 oz) (3 g)

Morton's Seasoning Blend 1/4 teaspoon (0.05 oz) (1 g)

Check the oven baked walleye fish after 30 minutes to see if the fish is done.  To do this, use a fork to try and flake the thickest part of the fish.  You want the fish to flake easily and be white in color.  If you see any translucent color or if the fillets do not want to flake apart easily, then put back into the oven and cook for 10 – 15 minutes longer.

This crispy baked walleye is a winner on so many levels. It&#039;s got all the right spices and flavors and is so simple to just pop in the oven and let it bake into crispy perfection!

Parmesan Crusted Baked Walleye

lb walleye ((2 fillets))

panko breadcrumbs

parmesan (finely grated)

garlic powder

onion powder

paprika

tsp salt

tsp pepper

lemon

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking tray with foil and spray with non-stick cooking oil or butter. If your fish is frozen, thaw it completely.

Crack an egg onto a shallow bowl and whisk it. Then, grate parmesan cheese into a separate bowl with remaining dry ingredients and stir.

Cut the skin off your walleye fillet&#39;s if needed. Then, pat the fillets with a paper towel on both sides so that they&#39;re dry.

Dip one fillet into the egg to completely coat it with egg. Then, dip it into the bowl with the dry ingredients to coat it with the dry ingredients. Next, place the fillet on the baking sheet. Repeat with other fillet. Then, sprinkle any remaining dry ingredients on top of the fish.

Bake in oven for 15 minutes. The fish should be white and flakey on the inside and golden brown on the outside when it&#39;s done. Remove from oven, top with lemon juice, and enjoy!

The key to this recipe, like every other, is to get the best ingredients...fresh walleye, top-drawer parm and so forth.

This recipe does your best ingredients proud. I made it exactly according to the published measurements with only one digression: 1 T of heavy cream in the egg. Otherwise, exactly as presented.

The fish was flaky and moist, with the lovely flavor of baked parm and the spices (onion, garlic, salt, ground pepper). A salutary squeeze of lemon finished it all up. 

Walleye is a king of Midwestern lake fish and this recipe definitely honors his majesty.

I found some fresh Canadian walleye at Costco.  Although I love fried walleye, it is not very healthy.  I made this recipe and it was delicious.  Can't wait for the leftovers.

This recipe is delicious! We are watching our carbs so I used Porq Italian Herb Panko Crumbs instead of regular Panko. I also broiled the fish for a few minutes at the end of the cooking time to brown-up the crumbs. Served it with a side of garden green beans. This will be our go-to recipe for walleye in the future!
