Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2

Place the rice in a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 3

Drizzle the canola oil and sesame oil over the rice.

Step 4

Add in the garlic, the green onions, the peppers, the carrots, the peas, and the ham, stirring until combined.

Step 5

Season with salt to taste.

In a pot on the stove, combine the chicken broth, the soy sauce, and the chile paste.Bring the broth to a boil.

Step 7

Remove the broth mixture from the heat and pour it over the rice, stirring to combine.

Step 8

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 32 minutes.

Step 9

Remove the baking dish from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes before uncovering and fluffing the rice with a fork.

Step 10

Increase the temperature of the oven to 475 degrees F.

Step 11

Return the dish to the oven and bake until the rice is browned and a crust forms, about 10 minutes.

Step 12

Remove the baking dish from the oven and season to taste.

Step 13

Serve!
