These sandwiches are a favorite Saturday night supper.  Along with a Waldorf salad and some chips (in the summer), and some squash soup (in the winter).  I generally use slider buns,  but I have used hamburger buns also.  Either one is great.  The only change I make is to decrease the poppy seeds from 1 tablespoon, down to 1 teaspoon.  And I use the lesser amount of sugar listed (2 teaspoons).  Thanks Sherry Crenshaw for the great recipe!

Everyone loves these sandwiches, the buttery topping can't be beat! I like to experiment with different combinations of meats and cheeses!

We loved these sandwiches!  They were easy to put together and delicious.  I used sweet Hawaiian style slider buns instead of regular burger buns and substituted fresh minced onion for the dried version.  I also used fresh minced parsley instead of poppy seeds since that's what I had on hand.  These sandwiches could easily be doubled to feed a crowd.  Great for parties and gatherings.  We loved the sweet buttery sauce on top.  A keeper!

This was a very interesting recipe. Adding the sugar to the mustard (I used spicy brown) added an interesting touch. We all liked it and it was easier for a group than grilled ham and cheese.

I used spicy brown mustard instead of regular and loved the flavor.  I used larger kaiser rolls (which were really light), so I increased the amount of the cheeses and ham to make sure there was enough stuff on it.  I used the exact amount of butter/mustard it required though and that seemed like a good amount.  I feel like it could have used something crispy though, maybe like apple slices?  I'll try that out next time.  We still loved it as-is though, and was perfect as a quick weeknight dinner.

Quick and easy supper! My family loved the sauce that topped the sandwiches. Since I am not that big on mustard, I substituted about 1/2 tsp. of dry mustard that offered a milder flavor. I also left out the poppy seeds and decreased the amount of sugar. I did not have colby cheese on hand so I substituted sharp cheddar which worked out fine. The whole pan was eaten, as well as the oven-fried potato wedges that I served with them. This is a nice way to use up leftover deli ham.
