In a small saucepan add cacao powder, coconut sugar, and pink salt. Mix until combined. Add in water.

Place saucepan over medium heat and stir until combined. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract.

You may use the sauce right away, but for a thicker sauce, transfer to a glass jar or container and place in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes to thicken.

Serve over homemade healthy protein ice cream, vegan ice cream, regular ice cream, homemade chocolate banana bread, on top of coffees or healthy hot chocolates, mix it in with milk to make chocolate milk, or add it to whatever your heart desires! Store in an airtight container or jar in the refrigerator for up to 10 days. You may re-heat the sauce slightly before serving to get desired consistency.
