Export 4 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Mix the sugar and ground cinnamon in a large bowl.
Step 2
Open the pizza dough. Spread the dough on a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough in half the long way and then cut into 1 1/2 - 2 inch strips.
Step 3
Heat 2 to 3 cups of oil in a deep pan or pot at medium-high heat. Carefully ad 4-6 strips to the oil and let fry 2-3 minutes on both sides or until they’ve browned. Remove the churros from the oil and transfer to a dish lined with paper towels to strain the excess oil.
Step 4
While the churros are still warm, make a vertical cut on one side to open the churro. Fill each one with 2 to 3 tablespoons of cajeta (Mexican caramel, dulce de leche or caramel sauce). Reseal the churros and sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Serve with a cup of coffee or Mexican hot chocolate. Enjoy!
