Step 1
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Add butter to a large bowl. With a hand mixer or a stand mixer, beat until creamy.

Add brown sugar and sugar. Beat until combined.

Add egg and vanilla and beat for another minute until well combined.
Step 5
Add flour mixture and mix on low until all of the flour is incorporated scraping the sides when necessary.

Gently fold in the chocolate chips. Leave 2 tablespoons for finishing touches.
Step 7
Cover dough and place in refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.
Step 8
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
Step 9
Scoop a tablespoon amount of dough using a cookie scoop or a spoon and place on the prepared baking sheet 2 inches apart from one another.
Step 10
Bake cookies for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not over-bake your cookies.
Step 11
Let them cool on cookie sheet.
Step 12
For a special touch…add the extra chocolate chips one by one to the warm cookies to get that professional chocolate chip cookie look.
