Step 1

In a heavy bottom sauce pan whisk together the sugar and fresh orange juice until dissolved.

Step 2

Bring the liquid ot a gentle boil over medium heat with an ocassional whisk.

Step 3

Boil the liquid until the bubbles turn light brown in color . This will take about 10 minutes.

Step 4

turn off the heat and whisk in the heavy cream. But be careful its super hot.

Step 5

Add the orange zest to the caramel and let it cool.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 175°Celsius (350°Fahrenheit)

Step 7

Butter and flour a bundt cake form.

Step 8

Mix flour, baking powder and cardamom in a medium sizend bowl togehter and put aside.

Step 9

Melt the butter in a heavy bottom saucepan .

Step 10

Add the chopped chocolate. leave it for a moment then turn off the heat.

Step 11

With a wooden spoon or rubber spatula stir until butterand chocolate are a homogenous batter.

Step 12

Add the orange marmelade, sugar, salt and eggs and mix with the wooden spoon or rubber spatula until smooth.

Step 13

Beat in the flour mixture in 3 small portions.

Step 14

Pour the batter into your prepared bundt cake form and bake for 50 minutes or until a wooden skewer comes out clean.

Step 15

Take out the cake and let it set on a cooling rack for 10 minutes.

Step 16

Turn the bundt cake form on a cake plate but leave the cake form on top for another 15 minutes before you take it off and let the cake cool completely .

Step 17

Before serving drizzle some of the caramel sauce on top.

IMPORTANT: That cake is super delicious on its own, so when you dont have time for the caramel . Leave the caramel be. See the caramel as a little more decadency. But I will promise the cake alone will be enough to get a ton of compliments.
