Step 1

Fill a pan 1/2-inch deep with oil and place over medium heat.

Step 2

In a large bowl, stir together the chicken, cream cheese, sour cream, chiles, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and Monterey Jack.

Step 3

Spread a few tablespoons of the mixture in the center of a tortilla and roll up. Using tongs, set seam side down in the hot oil.

Step 4

Cook until golden brown on both sides and remove to paper towel to drain.

Step 5

Note: For baked taquitos, spray rolled taquito with cooking oil and bake for 15 minutes in a 400°F oven instead of frying.
