Sweet fig preserves, a generous shot of rum, a squeeze of lemon, and a splash of spicy ginger beer. This Fig Dark and Stormy is the simplest cocktail to make, but so delicious.

Fig Dark and Stormy

fig preserves

dark rum ((or bourbon))

juice of 1/2 a lemon

ginger beer

figs and thyme,

1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the fig preserves, bourbon, and lemon juice. Shake to combine.2. Strain into a glass filled with ice. Top off with ginger beer and garnish with fresh figs and thyme. DRINK! 

I couldn't find fig preserves so I used peach vanilla nutmeg jam instead. It turned out delicious! More of a spiced peach dark n stormy. So yummy!

This was really delicious! My first mixed drink and I thought it was great! We reduced the rum content and didn’t think it was overpowering or too strong. It tasted like a great fall/winter drink. Yum!

Hi! Do you think we can make this as a non-alcoholic drink too? What could I substitute with instead of rum?
