Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 and line a baking sheet withparchment paper.
Step 2
Unwrap the caramels and cut them in half with a sharp knife.
Step 3
Lay 24 of the pretzels in a single layer on your preparedbaking sheet (you may need 2 baking sheets or to work in batches depending onthe size)
Step 4
Lay ½ of a caramel on each pretzel.
Step 5
Place in the oven for about 5 minutes or until caramels aresoftened.
Step 6
Remove from the oven and quickly press the remainingpretzels into the caramel.
Step 7
Allow the pretzels to cool completely.
Step 8
Place candy melts in the bowl of a double boiler or in aheat safe bowl over a pan of water. Heat over med/high heat stirring frequentlyuntil completely melted. If necessary to achieve a smooth consistency add inshortening a tsp at a time until the melts are perfectly smooth.
Step 9
Dip the pretzels in the candy melts to cover about 2/3 ofthe pretzel. Place back on the parchment lined baking sheet and gently press aheart shaped sprinkle into the soft chocolate.
Step 10
Allow to cool completely.
Step 11
Store in an airtight container.
