Step 1
In a large Dutch oven over medium-low heat add the olive oil.
Step 2
Once the oil is shimmering, add the lemon slices and garlic and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until infused and aromatic.
Step 3
Add the broccoli and sauté until lightly golden, another 2 to 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Add the beans and stir to combine. If desired, allow the beans to sauté as well for a bit of a crispy exterior.
Step 5
Deglaze the pan with water, scraping any browned bits of flavor off the bottom of the pot. Bring to a simmer and partially cover with a lid.
Step 6
Allow to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until the broccoli is al dente and not mushy and beans are warmed through. Check for seasoning then serve immediately.
