Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti until just al dente, then drain and set aside.
Step 3
In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, and cottage cheese until smooth. Set aside.
Step 4
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain grease.
Step 5
Stir spaghetti sauce into the beef and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 6
Place several slices of butter on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Add half of the cooked spaghetti, spreading evenly.
Step 7
Spread the cheese mixture over the noodles into a smooth, even layer.
Step 8
Top with the remaining spaghetti and a few more slices of butter.
Step 9
Pour the meat sauce over the top, covering all the noodles.
Step 10
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
Step 11
Remove from oven, top with grated cheddar cheese, and return to bake for 15 more minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and melted.

Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
