This mash-up of lasagna and spaghetti with meat sauce makes for a warming one-pan dinner. (And if you start with leftover cooked noodles and meat sauce, you're set for a super-fast weeknight meal.) Assemble the casserole ahead of time and bake when you're ready to serve.

Baked Spaghetti

Kosher salt

onion, diced (about 2 cups)

red bell pepper, stemmed, seeded and diced (about 1 cup)

garlic,

tomatoes

sugar

oregano

spaghetti

sharp Cheddar, grated (about 2 cups)

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Heat a second large pot over medium-high heat. Add the beef, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper and cook, stirring to break the meat up, until browned, about 4 minutes. Add the onions, bell peppers, garlic and a generous pinch of salt and pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 10 minutes. Stir in the crushed and diced tomatoes, sugar and oregano and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti for 2 minutes less than the time indicated in the package directions. Strain well. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Cover the bottom of a 13-by-9-by-2-inch pan with a third of the sauce. Add half the pasta and a third of the Cheddar; repeat the layers and add the last of the sauce; reserve the last of the Cheddar.

Bake for 30 minutes. Top with the remaining Cheddar and continue baking until it melts and the sauce bubbles, about 5 more minutes. Let cool in the dish for at least 10 minutes. Garnish with the parsley before cutting into squares.

Why in heck would you use CHEDDAR in spaghetti? Mozzarella only! Yum....

I agree your site is very hard to use. I don't know how a busy mom/dad (kids running around, etc...) could get a recipe from your site and make it. I want to get the recipe and be able to make it with ease. Also give alternatives to some of the ingredients that are called for in the recipes. This way if you don't (or can't use that product) have that ingredient you don't have to go to another site to find what you could use instead. 

Delicious. My family loves Ree Drummond's recipes! Everyone had seconds when I served this. Cut back on the sugar and 1/2 lb of the meat, and added 1 more cup of cheese. It was perfect!

you have one of the worst sites going. trying to get a recipe from the food network is alway's an impossible task. when are you going to make it user friendly.

We all loved this recipe - adults and youngsters alike. Increased the cheese, garlic, and red bell pepper amount but only to accommodate personal preferences....

This was a lot of sauce for the amount of pasta (never a problem!), but maybe we measured wrong. Needed to add more spices - garlic powder, Italian seasoning (didn't have oregano). Didn't add red pepper flakes (kids ruin everything), but would help. The cheddar is great in this. Used elbows and baked in a deeper dish for only about 10 minutes then stirred to keep gooey.  Will definitely become a regular. Even my 5 year old devoured it.

This is a tasty recipe! I added a few more spices (a little more salt and a little Tony Chachere’s). The spaghetti was a little watery, I think from the canned tomatoes but was still delicious. Will definitely be adding this to the repertoire.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large skillet cook and crumble the ground beef and Italian sausage and season with salt and pepper. Remove most of the grease.

Add onions and garlic and cook for a few minutes until onion is translucent.&nbsp;

Add all but 1/2 cup of the marinara sauce (reserve 1/2 cup for the noodles) to the mixture and stir to combine. Set aside.

Cook Spaghetti according to package instructions, just until “al dente”.

Place hot spaghetti in a large mixing bowl with butter and 1/2 cup marinara sauce and toss to combine. Pour HALF of the pasta into a 9x13’’ pan.

Combine cream cheese, sour cream and cottage cheese in a bowl and mix well. Smooth over noodles in the pan.&nbsp;

Top with remaining noodles. Add meat mixture on top and smooth into an even layer. Top with mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese.&nbsp;

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Check it around 20 minutes and if the cheese is browning too quickly, place a piece of tinfoil over it.

Wait about 10-15 minutes before cutting and serving. Enjoy!

This turned out really good. My girls ate a ton! I didn't have fresh basil, but I had a jar of pesto, and added it. Also, a cup of mozzarella isn't nearly enough. We're all about the cheese!

I loved this dish! I added some diced zucchini (raw) before I baked it. Turned out great ( the zucchini was cookedperfectly, and not mushy, it paired well with the spaghetti) add a salad and perfect quick fast and easy meal!

I don't understand the negative comments being posted about this recipe. It was delish with a budget of under $20 dollars even added ground italian sausage. #triedandtrue #serveitupwithlove

Great go to dish.. I added some chopped bell peppers 🌶.. Family loved it

The kids really loved this dish and so did I. I found that the portion of sauce to spaghetti was off though and ended up using about 3/4 of the 16 ounces. I also added more garlic to the sauce and more cheese on top.I can see it being good with substituting Italian turkey sausage for the ground beef.

Baked spaghetti is a winner, but as with most recipes you have to tweak this one. You will definitely need to add more Italian seasoning and garlic to the sauce unless you like a very bland sauce. And use 2 to 3 cups of cheese— a nice mixture of mozzarella and sharp cheddar is ideal. Only 1 cup cheese for 6 servings is bogus! You want a big chewy LAYER of cheese on top of the spaghetti, not just a little cheese here and there.

I made this tonight (eating right now).  I definitely miss the sauce.  I'll probably make it again with some modifications/additions.

I just finished making the bake spaghetti. I put my extra touches to the recipe. It turned out to be delicious! Serve with Five Cheese Garlic bread.

So this turned out really well,  definitely add more cheese, next time i make it, i'll try some of the modifications. of course i'm a garlic fiend and 2 cloves are never enough for me, so i doubled it. all 3 of my kids ate 3 helpings when they usually will not eat much at a time.

This Baked Spaghetti Is Comfort Food Perfection

Creamy baked spaghetti is an easy, fuss-free dinner recipe and is perfect for weeknight dinners and will become a family favorite in no time.&nbsp;

Creamy baked spaghetti

tbsp butter

tbsp flour

milk

cream

garlic powder

tsp smoked paprika

cheese (a mixture of cheddar and mozzarella works well)

salt

500 grams/1lb

spaghetti,

cheese,

Pre-heat the oven to 200ºC/400ºF. Melt the butter in an oven-proof skillet/deep frying pan.&nbsp;

Whisk in the flour until a smooth paste is formed then slowly whisk in the milk over medium-low heat until the sauce is smooth. Add the cream and spices and allow the sauce to cook gently for 5-10 minutes or until the flour has cooked out and the sauce is silky smooth.&nbsp;

Add the cheese and turn the heat off. Allow the cheese to melt then season to taste.&nbsp;

Add the cooked spaghetti and stir to combine.&nbsp;

Top with cheese then place in the oven and allow to bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden.&nbsp;

Remove from the oven and serve.&nbsp;

Preheat The Oven: Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.

Cook Pasta: Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain but reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.

Cook Sauce: In a deep skillet or sauce pan cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Add the garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, stir and cook until aromatic. Add add the spaghetti sauce, diced tomatoes, reserved pasta water and stir. Simmer for about 5 minutes.

Bake: Stir in the spaghetti. Spread into a 9x13 inch baking dish, then top with mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 30 minutes.

Serve: Garnish with basil or parsley and serve.

Bacon Cream Cheese Baked Spaghetti

(10.5 oz) can condensed cream of bacon soup

oz cream cheese, softened

onion powder

dry spaghetti

mozzarella cheese, grated and divided

bacon,

Fresh chives, snipped,

In a large pot, stir together the milk, bacon soup, cream cheese, garlic powder and onion powder. Bring to a boil.

Once bubbling, break spaghetti in half and stir into pot. Reduce heat to medium low and let spaghetti cook 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in 2 cups of the mozzarella and 1/2 of the bacon. Season to taste with salt and pepper and transfer to a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Top with remaining mozzarella and bacon and bake until cheese has melted and is starting to turn golden brown, about 15 minutes.

Let sit 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh chives, if using. Enjoy!
