Step 1
First, you peel the onions and cut them into 1cm thickness, then separate the layers of onions to get the rings.
Step 2
Pour the rings in an ice water bowl for 15 minutes, and inside this time, prepare the batter.
Step 3
For making the batter, take a mixing bowl and add all-purpose corn flour, black pepper, red chili powder, garlic powder, and salt. Give a mix.
Step 4
Add water and whisk well. Add enough water to make a thick, smooth batter.
Step 5
Remove the rings from the ice water and pat dry.
Step 6
Now, take two bowls, place the flour in one bowl and the breadcrumb in the other and keep the batter bowl next to it.
Step 7
Start by coating the rings with dry flour, shake to remove excess flour, further transfer in the batter bowl, and cover it well.
Step 8
Then immediately coat it nicely with breadcrumbs. Let it rest for 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 9
Set a wok on medium flame and add oil for frying. Deep fry the coated onion rings until it’s become crispy and golden brown.
Step 10
Remove it over a sieve, so the excess oil drains off, your crispy onion ring without eggs is ready.
Step 11
Served it hot with your favorite sauces or dips.
