Heat oven to 350°F (180°C.). Spray 13x9-inch (33x23-cm) pan with cooking spray.

Mix sugar, butter and melted chocolate in large bowl until blended. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Stir in flour until blended.

Stir in 1 cup (250 mL) chopped cookies; spread onto bottom of prepared pan. Sprinkle with remaining chopped cookies.

Bake 30 to 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. (Do not overbake.) Cool completely.

For Easy Serving and Cleanup: Line empty baking pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides of pan; spray with cooking spray. Bake brownies in prepared pan as directed. Cool brownies completely, then use foil handles to remove brownies from pan before cutting into pieces to serve.

Note: For thicker brownies, substitute a 9-inch (23-cm) square pan for the 13x9-inch (33x23-cm) pan. Bake brownies as directed, increasing the baking time to 35 to 40 min. or until brownies are done.
