(16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained

(15-1/2 ounces) great northern beans, rinsed and drained

(15-1/4 ounces) lima beans

(15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained

(15-1/2 ounces) black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained

Awesome flavor! I used 5 cans of beans I already had, black and kidney beans but the sauce makes the dish. I drained the beans and chopped the veggies last night. Put it all together this morning and enjoyed it for lunch. I've been looking for a veg option to baked beans and this recipe did not disappoint! I will be trying it with prepared dried beans and doubling the recipe soon.

I made this for a party and got a lot of compliments, especially from the vegetarians.

Yummmm - wonderful. My high-end food store didn't sell canned lima beans, so I substituted chili beans, added another can of blackeyed peas & omitted the red & green bell peppers, but put in a red bell pepper seasoning. I followed some cook's advice by adding the turkey bacon.

So easy & great at a party....We are going to a fish fry tomorrow...I needed to bring bake beans...My friend doesn't eat pork...Looking for a fill-in...this is it !!!! Thanks it is wonderful I know everyone will love it.... :)

These beans were delicious and a hit at the potluck I took them to.  I will definitely make this recipe again and again.

We were underwhelmed with this recipe. We didn't like the green pepper and weren't thrilled with the black-eyed peas. I added another 1/2 cup of sugar to try to cut some of the vinegar taste. Apparently we're in the minority since most other reviewers loved these beans.

There's only one word for these beans--AWESOME!!! Big, big hit with the guys, the vegetarians and pretty much everyone else. Thank you Jean Cantner!!

I made these several times, they always went over well.  Easy to make and good for you! The men really liked them, I didnt use the peppers as hubby hates peppers......I added about 1/4 c of brown sugar....AMAZING.

We loved it! My husband makes a lot of chili and I'm really not a  fan, but when I made these beans all talk of chili ceased.  We dropped off leftovers at a neighbors' house on our way to vacation and that evening received an email that they loved them, too. We will make these over and over, changing only the peppers....red and orange, not green.

I made this for a healthy cooking slow cooker demo at work. I actually had someone compliment on how the beans didn't need any meat. I did have to sub out white kidney beans for butter beans, but this dish was so colorful and it versatile you can really use any bean you have in the cupboard.

I use butter beans, pork 'n beans and garbanzo beans instead of black eyed peas and black beans, also use 1 lb. ground beef and sometimes even small sliced pepperoni.  Best pot luck dinner ever.  Good with rye bread.

I was disappointed in these beans after reading all the good reviews.   There were nothing special, a bit bland.

We love this, hot or cold.  It is great to take camping because you don't have to heat it up and it is so easy to make in advance while you are busy with everything else.

A meatless dish, loaded with beans? I couldn't wait to try this! And I'm still kicking myself for not reducing the amount of brown sugar the recipe calls for. WAY too sweet. I might try these again sometime, but with half the sugar.

The first time I made this it was good but missing something. The next time I added one pound of Italian bulk sausage, fried and crumbled , and one pound of bacon also fried and crumbled. Also a few good dashes of liquid smoke. Delicious!!

I’ve made these many times and everyone raves about them.  Truly great recipe.

I have been making this recipe for 40 years from a family recipe.  The leftovers rarely last long.  I am single now and will only make it for potlucks and I always double the recipe.  The sweetness can be overwhelming so I cut the sugar to prevent this.  I also use a large can of baked beans and switch up the other beans as well as add about 1/2 # cooked bacon.  You can double the recipe just by using 2 cans each of other beans without doubling the sauce.  And a last suggestion,  cook for an hour in the oven as cooking in a slow cooker dries out the casserole. When I started cooking these beans, there were no crock pots.

I've been making a recipe similar to this for several years and it's always gotten rave reviews. I'm always asked to bring it to potlucks and picnics.

I will  definitely be making this again.  It was so simple and tasted soooo good.  I even had requests for the recipe as I served it at a community gathering.One thing that I did different than the recipe was to add 1 lb. of cooked and crumbled turkey bacon.  Delicious!

I steam pressure cooker can this recipe (cold packed) so that I always have them ready when needed/wanted. I’ve made this recipe three times now with several different variations and they always come out GREAT.  They’re great warm or cold.  I did take another’s advice and cut the amount of brown sugar in half: the beans were still plenty sweet.  I add an extra tablespoon of cider vinegar for a subtle sweet/sour taste.  I use Dijon horseradish mustard instead of the ground mustard – a healthy tablespoon.  In my last batch, I added a 4oz can of diced chilis, drained.  It gave it a nice, subtle kick.
