Export 10 ingredients for grocery delivery
Step 1
Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl. Stir together wet ingredients in a separate bowl.
Step 2
Slowly add wet ingredients to the bowl of dry ingredients, stirring until everything is just combined. A few lumps are ok — try not to over-mix.
Step 3
Chill batter in fridge for 15-20 minutes so it will be easier to work with. While the batter cools, you can heat up the oil over medium low.
Step 4
When the oil is hot enough to fry, remove the batter from the refrigerator.
Step 5
Use two spoons to scoop up a small Tablespoon of batter. Use the spoons to mold the batter into a ball shape.
Step 6
Drop the batter into the hot oil.
Step 7
Fry each hush puppy for 4-5 minutes, until golden brown on the outside.
Step 8
Remove from oil and place on a wire rack (with paper towels underneath it) to dry.
