Baking cookies in an air fryer is easy, and the results are amazing. These Air Fryer Cookies have deliciously chewy centers and crispy edges. This cookie dough is specifically designed for baking in the air fryer, but you can make them in the oven too.

unsalted butter,

sugar

light brown sugar, packed

vanilla

all-purpose flour,

tsp baking soda

tsp salt

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer fitted with a paddle or whisk attachment, cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar on medium-high speed for 2-3 minutes. Then add the egg yolk and vanilla and mix for about 1 minute, until creamy and well combined.

Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix on medium-low speed just until incorporated, about 30-60 seconds. Then add the chocolate chips and mix on medium-low speed just for a few seconds until well distributed. Then cover and chill for 1 hour.

Preheat the air fryer at 350°F (175°C). Prepare parchment paper for the air fryer basket by cutting it into the size of the air fryer basket. Set aside.

Scoop 8 equal-sized balls (about 2 tablespoons [45g]) of chilled cookie dough and roll into balls. Once the air fryer is preheated, line the air fryer basket with the prepared parchment paper and place 3-4 dough balls (depending on the size of your air fryer), spaced 4 inches (10cm) apart, and flatten them until 1/2 inch (1.3cm) thick. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until they are lightly browned, puffed, and ripped on top.

Remove the air fryer basket from the air fryer and let them cool for 5 minutes in the air fryer basket or until firm enough to move them. Then, transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Combine all three ingredients in a medium mixing bowl. Mix until fully combined.

Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Using a 1½-inch cookie scoop, or heaping tablespoon, scoop the dough onto parchment paper.

Using a fork, press the cookie flat, first one direction, then again from the     opposite direction to make a crosshatch pattern on top.

Line the bottom of your air fryer with parchment paper. Be sure to not have extra     parchment paper running up the side of the air fryer or it will get caught by the air and fold over the cookies.

Place as many cookies in your air fryer that will fit, while giving each cookie a     half inch space. I was able to do about 4-6 at a time.

Set your air fryer at 370 degrees and cook them for 4 minutes before letting them rest in the air fryer for 4 minutes.

Repeat until you’ve used up your batter. Enjoy!

Prepare the basket of your airfryer by placing a piece of parchment paper in the bottom. Poke holes in the paper for air flow.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, oil, and eggs. Mix until all of the ingredients are combined and it is a thick dough.

If using baking chips, candies, sprinkles, or nuts, stir them into the dough, until they are evenly distributed.

Use a small scoop or spoon and drop scoops of dough into the prepared basket of your air fryer. Be sure to allow room for the dough to slightly spread. Work in batches and do not let the dough touch or overlap.

Cook at 370 degrees Fahrenheit for four minutes per batch.

Melt the butter in a medium bowl and set it aside.

In a separate large bowl combine the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Whisk it together and set aside.

Next, take the butter bowl and add the apple pie spice, vanilla extract, and brown sugar to it. Mix it well. Add in the applesauce and the egg.

Finally combine the two bowls. Add the apple mixture to the dry ingredient bowl.

Mixing everything thoroughly.

Fold in the chopped apple pieces.

Preheat air fryer to 315 degrees.

Line air fryer basket with parchment paper.

Using a small ice cream scoop or a spoon, scoop the cookies out one by one making each cookie ball about two inches wide.

Place each ball of cookie dough on to the parchment paper, leaving about an inch and a half of space between them. It’s important to leave that space because they do spread out.

You will probably have to do multiple batches. I was able to fit in six cookies at a time.

In between batches place the bowl of uncooked cookie dough in the fridge so that it stays chilled.

Air Fry cookies for about 6-8 minutes.

Repeat until all cookies are made.

Remove cookies from basket and place on cookie rack to cool.

Combine confectioners sugar and heavy whipping cream in a bowl, mix well. If you’d like it thinner add more heavy whipping cream, if you’d like it thicker add more sugar. Once cookies are completely cool, drizzle glaze over top of them.

Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat on medium speed until well combined, about 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl again.

Add the flour, then sprinkle the baking soda and salt evenly over top. Mix on low speed until no dry bits of flour remain, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand with a spatula.

Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces (about 2½ tablespoons each) and roll into balls.

Preheat the air fryer to 300°F if your model requires it.

Line the basket of an air fryer with parchment paper (cut to fit the basket if you don’t have an air fryer liner). Working in batches, place 4 pieces of dough in the basket, equally spaced.

Air fry for 14 minutes at 300°F. Remove the basket from the air fryer and let the cookies cool for 4 minutes on the parchment paper, before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely. Continue cooking the rest of the dough balls.

Take 1 piece of cookie dough and shape into a flat circle

Note: Cookies will still be very soft.  They will firm up as they cool.

Allow cookies to sit inside of warm air fryer for an addition 2 minutes.

Open Air Fryer basket and allow cookies to sit in basket for 3-4 minutes before removing from basket.

As Cookies cool they become more firm and are easily lifted off parchment paper to a cooling rack to cool completely.

These came out scrumptious! I have a Gourmia air fryer/toaster oven and 360 degrees for 8-9 minutes was perfect. I've made them twice already.

Delicious dough but major fail in the air fryer. They were burnt on top and not cooked underneath at ALL after 4 mins then same after 3 mins. Lowered temp to 325 for 6 mins. Still not cooked all the way through but not burnt on top. 325 for 8 mins for the win. We are using a Ninja DualZone. Just one side cooking with parchment and the insert to allow air underneath.

I have made these for years and years. My kindergarten class loved the PB pizza. They got to decorate their own slice. However, since I got my AF I tried using stevia....horrible. Crumbly, and dry.  Just an FYI.

Incredibly well written post and recipe. I wish I could post a picture with ‘nailed it’. Brown on outside, gooey on inside. Can’t eat them due to raw egg :/ 400* air fry for 5 mins.
