Juicy Air Fryer Steak

low-sodium soy sauce

liquid smoke

butter (optional)

cocoa powder

brown sugar

smoked paprika

onion powder

garlic powder

chili powder

salt and pepper

Drizzle the steak with soy sauce and liquid smoke.

Season the steak with the spices. Rub the spices into the steak. If you wish to marinate, place the steaks in the fridge for an hour to overnight. This is optional.

Place the steak in the air fryer. Do not stack. Cook in batches if necessary.

Cook for 5 minutes on 370 degrees. After 5 minutes, open the air fryer and examine your steak. Cook time will vary depending on your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer and cook to 125° F for rare, 135° F for medium-rare, 145° F for medium, 155° F for medium-well, and 160° F for well done.

Mine took 7-8 minutes total for medium doneness.

Remove the steak from the air fryer and drizzle with optional melted butter.

Allow the steak to rest for at least 3 minutes before slicing or consuming. If you slice into the steak too soon, that will cause that the inside moisture within the steak to spill out onto the plate, leaving a drier, less flavorful steak.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.

Season both sides of the steaks with the salt, pepper and garlic powder.

Air fry for about 5-6 minutes per side, flipping the steaks halfway through cooking. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the steaks. Use a digital instant read meat thermometer to cook to your liking. For medium-rare, remove the steaks from the air fryer at 130°F.

Transfer the ribeye steaks to a cutting board and let rest, loosely covered with foil for 5 minutes.

Serve with a pat of butter and garnish with finely chopped chives or parsley.

probably ok, but the temp was too low. the steak came out after 5 minutes on both sides like it had been boiled. well done all the way through but not crispy. Next time Ill try to get it up to 700-800 degrees. Probably would have came out better over a really hot grill. We resorted to a cast iron skillet that was nearly red hot for the other steaks.

Spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil, then add the steaks. Lightly spray the top of the steaks.

Air fry for 6 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes for medium rare. Cooking time will also depend on the thickness of the steaks. Use a meat thermometer to cook to your desired level of doneness. For medium rare, they should be removed when they are 130. 

Let the steaks rest tented with foil for 5 minutes. 

Serve topped with a pat of butter and fresh parsley. Enjoy!

I found that this is a great recipe, although I cut the time to about 5 minutes per side.... Absolutely Fabulous!
