This is a great, quick-and-easy pulled pork recipe. The biscuits are delicious too, and the sauce is such a big hit!

Alabama Pulled Pork Sandwiches with White Barbecue Sauce

mayonnaise

white vinegar

black pepper

lemon juice

salt

pork tenderloin, (fat trimmed and discarded)

apple cider vinegar

water

brown sugar

cayenne pepper

chili powder

garlic powder

all purpose flour

baking powder

sweet potato

unsalted butter, (melted)

milk

Combine sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Cover and chill.

PREPARE THE SAUCE:

Cut the pork in half lengthwise; cut crosswise into 2½-inch chunks. Combine the apple cider vinegar and the remaining pork ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Add the pork to pan. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour or until tender. Remove the pork from cooking liquid; shred with 2 forks. Place the pork in a serving dish; pour the cooking liquid over the pork.

PREPARE THE PORK:

Preheat oven to 425°F. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the potato, sugar, butter and milk; stir well. Pour over the dry ingredients; stir until a soft dough forms (the dough will feel sticky). Turn the dough out onto a floured surface; knead lightly 5 to 6 times. Roll the dough into a 10-inch circle; cut 24 biscuits with a floured 2-inch biscuit cutter. You&#039;ll need to cut and then re-roll scraps and cut again. Place biscuits on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove the biscuits from the pan; cool on a wire rack.

PREPARE THE BISCUITS:

Place pork and a dollop of the white barbecue sauce in between two biscuits. Serving size is 2 biscuits, ¼ cup pork and 2½ teaspoons barbecue sauce.

Red ripe tomato slices, fresh basil, garlic, green onion and two kinds of cheese baked in a flaky golden crust.  This classic Southern Tomato Pie just begs to be eaten.

5-6 red ripe tomatoes, sliced

basil leaves, chopped (about 10 leaves)

Heat oven to 400 degrees, line a pie...

Heat oven to 400 degrees, line a pie plate with unbaked crust and shape crust.  With the tines of a fork, poke holes in the bottom of the crust.  Use a piece of heavy duty foil (foil method) or a pie weight in the center so the crust does not bubble up as it bakes.  Place crust in the oven and bake for about 8 minutes, or until crust begins to brown.  Remove and cool.

Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees.

Place a layer of tomato slices into the bottom of the pre-baked pie crust.  Top with half of the basil mixture.  Add another layer of tomatoes and the rest of the basil mixture. Spread the cheese mixture over the top.

Cup Mayonnaise

Cup Apple Cider Vinegar

Water

Kosher salt

Garlic powder

Fresh Ground Pepper

Onion powder

Add all ingredients to a bowl and whisk until combined well. Refrigerate.

Bama Butter Cake

unsalted butter, softened

sugar

egg, room temperature

all-purpose flour

baking soda

buttermilk

vanilla extract

pecans

Preheat the oven to 325°F and grease and flour a 10 to 12 cup Bundt pan.

Use a mixer to cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy - about 5 minutes. Add the eggs, one at at time, mixing well after each addition.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Turn the mixer on low, and add about half of the flour mixture. Mix well. Add about half of the buttermilk and mix well. Then add the remaining flour mixture and mix well. Add the remaining buttermilk and mix well. Add the vanilla and pecans and mix to combine.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes - or until the cake is just starting to pull away from the sides of the pan and toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Use a skewer or toothpick to poke holes all over the cake.

Make the glaze by combining the sugar, water, and butter. Cook over low heat until the butter has melted and the sugar has just dissolved. Do not allow to boil. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla; stir well. Pour the glaze over the cake while it is still in the pan - paying special attention to make sure the glaze drizzles down into the holes. Reserve about 1/4 cup of the glaze for later. Allow the cake to cool for about 30 minutes in the pan before placing a serving platter over the pan and inverting the cake onto it. Drizzle the reserved glaze over the cake.
