Ambrosia Salad

oz Cool Whip (, lite is fine)

sour cream (, light is fine)

11 oz mandarin oranges (drained)

oz pineapple (drained)

oz maraschino cherries (drained, halved, and patted dry)

coconut flakes

marshmallows

chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, cashews optional)

Fold sour cream into Cool Whip in a large serving bowl.

Fold in remaining ingredients making sure the pineapple, oranges, and cherries have been properly drained.

Serve immediately or refrigerate until serving.

Ambrosia salad is creamy fruit salad made with fruit, marshmallows, nuts, cool whip and sour cream - it&#039;s a southern delight! 

whipped topping (like Cool Whip) (thawed)

sour cream

oranges

pineapple (drained)

jarred maraschino cherries (drained)

coconut

pecans

mini fruit flavored marshmallows

Whisk together the whipped topping and sour cream.

Stir in the drained mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, and cherries.

Stir in the coconut and chopped pecans.

Stir in the marshmallows.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

This recipe for Cool Whip Ambrosia Salad is about as quick as they come.  If you have 6 minutes and 6 ingredients, you can mix up this simple but super delicious low calorie dessert.

Easy Cool Whip Ambrosia Salad 

mini marshmallows

pineapple

maraschino cherries

orange

walnuts

food coloring

Using a colander or sieve, drain as much of the liquid from the oranges, cherries and pineapple as you can.  Keep the oranges separate from the other fruit because you are going to mix it in last.

p id=&#8221;instruction-step-2&#8243;>2.  In a large bowl, mix together Cool Whip and sour cream.  Mix in food coloring if you are using it.

id=&#8221;instruction-step-3&#8243;>3.  Carefully fold in the marshmallows, pineapples and cherries.  Fold in mandarin oranges last because they are the most delicate and prone to fall apart.

I have been making this recipe for a while now and I do variations (mixing in different fruit and sometimes using cottage cheese instead of sour cream), but it always comes out great, thank you for this recipe.

I love this recipe.  I also add in blueberries to this recipe.  I do 6 oz of fresh blueberries.

This Ambrosia Salad from Delish.com is just like the one you remember. 

c. Cool Whip

c. mini marshmallows

mandarin oranges, drained

c. shredded coconut

c. halved maraschino cherries (stems removed), drained

c. toasted pecans

Leave out the Cool Whip, coconut, and maraschino cherries (too sweet.)

Add more sour cream and marshmallows.

Now yer talking!

My mama has always made an awesome ambrosia:  1.  Oranges (navel) peal with no outer white pieces cut up in small pieces.  2. Cherries.  3. Coconut shredded.  4.  Chopped pecans.  5.  Bananas sliced last, so they will not turn brown.  6.  Mama used cherry juice and a little sugar to sweeten this wonderful ambrosia. 
If there are leftovers, place in refrigerator, and it’s delicious for a snack, or breakfast!  Yummy 😋 
PS:  I plan to make this ambrosia for Thanksgiving and probably Christmas too!  I’ll use mandarin oranges instead of navel oranges.  Thank you.  Tina in GA, 🇺🇸

Lazy Daisy Salad is a 1950s Ambrosia Fruit Salad using vanilla pudding and cool whip to jazz up canned mandarins, crushed pineapple and fruit cocktail.  The sweet concoction is topped off with coconut and chopped pecans for added pizzazz.

Whipped Topping (Cool Whip)

Drain the fruit cocktail and mandarin oranges.

Combine pineapple (undrained), fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, vanilla pudding, and whipped topping until everything is mixed well. Stir gently.

Pour into serving bowl; top with coconut and chopped pecans.

Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving, if possible.

Add the chopped lettuce to an extra-large serving bowl.

Sprinkle the cooked ground beef over the lettuce.

Sprinkle the shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, sliced onion, and diced dill pickles over the ground beef. Toss to combine.

Drizzle as much or as little dressing as you like over the top of the salad. Serve immediately.

(8-ounce container) cool whip

coconut ((shredded))

pineapple tidbits ((well drained))

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and stir well.

Refrigerate salad until ready to serve.

You can reserve a few mandarin oranges and maraschino cherries to decorate the top of the salad.
