In a large bowl with a handheld electric mixer or in the bowl of an electric stand mixer, whip together the cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy, 1-2 minutes.

Add the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, vanilla...

Add the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, vanilla and 2 tablespoons milk. Mix until fluffy and smooth.

Add additional powdered sugar and/or milk, if needed,...

Add additional powdered sugar and/or milk, if needed, until desired consistency is reached. The dip should be soft enough to easily dip a pretzel in (without breaking the pretzel!) but not so soft that it spreads out instead of holding it's shape in a fluffy cloud of brownie batter goodness.

Garnish with chocolate chips, if desired.

My Homemade Animal Crackers recipe is so easy that even a 16-month-old can make them! They&#039;re big, crunchy, and sweet like the store-bought animal crackers you know and love.

Homemade Animal Crackers Recipe

(4½oz/129 grams) butter ((at room temperature))

sugar

honey

vanilla extract

(5 ounces 142 grams) all-purpose flour

(5 ounces 142 grams) whole wheat flour

baking powder

cinnamon

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and honey until well combined.

Add the egg and vanilla, and beat in.

Next, add the dry ingredients: the flours, baking powder and cinnamon and mix to form a dough.

Wrap the dough in cling wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. (You can use it straight away but it&#039;s a little easier to roll when it has chilled for a bit).

Pre-heat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Roll half of the dough out onto a floured surface, about ¼ inch thick.

Using Animal Cookie Cutters or any cookie cutters cut out the dough into shapes. Place the crackers onto prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown around the edges.

Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheets before enjoying. Stored cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days.

My 16 Month Old Made Homemade Animal Crackers!

Crackers can be a great snack for kids- especially, crackers that are homemade, full of nutrients, and tastes great.

Animal Crackers Recipe {Nut Free, Dairy Free, Gluten Free}

sunflower seeds

flaxseed, ground

coconut flakes

salt

water

Place shelled sunflower seeds in a food processor or blender. Grind until it's the texture of coarse meal.

Place seed meal into a bowl and add remaining ingredients and stir with a spoon.

Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Spoon batter onto wax paper. Cover with wax paper and roll out with rolling pin until 1/4-1/8th inch thick. Cut out shapes.

Place shapes on greased cookie sheet. Bake in 300 degrees oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.

Delicious served with sweetened yogurt.
