Skip the lines at Starbucks and whip up this apple crisp macchiato in the comfort of your own home. Made with apple syrup and flavors of cinnamon, this iced coffee drink is perfect for the fall.

Apple Crisp Macchiato Recipe

granny smith apple (diced)

apple cider

water

brown sugar

cinnamon

milk

apple syrup (or to taste)

shot espresso

Combine the diced apple, apple cider, water, brown sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan set over medium heat.

Cook

Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 10 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the sugar is dissolved. Remove the syrup from the heat and set it aside to steep for 15 minutes.

Strain

Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, making sure to press out the apples to extract all of the flavor!

Chill

Place the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge to chill until you’re ready to make the macchiato.

For the Apple Syrup

Combine

Combine the milk and apple syrup in a tall glass.

Fill

Fill the glass with ice and top with the espresso. Drizzle over additional syrup, if desired.

Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato

maple syrup

vanilla extract

Apple Brown Sugar Syrup (about 1.5 ounces)

oat milk

frothed oat milk (optional)

cinnamon (for garnish, optional)

Add the apple cider, brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, and salt to a small sauce pot over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then decrease the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until the mixture is reduced and thickened.

Take off the heat, whisk in the vanilla, and set aside.

For the Apple Brown Sugar Syrup

Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of Apple Brown Sugar Syrup to a 12-ounce coffee cup or glass.

Pour the steamed milk into the glass over the syrup.

Pour the frothed milk, if using, on top of the steamed milk.

Pour the coffee on top of the milk.

Drizzle with extra Apple Brown Sugar Syrup and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for garnish, if desired.
