This 6 ingredient apple pork chops recipe is the best pork I've ever eaten! These apple pork chops are the perfect fall meal for a busy weeknight.

Apple Pork Chops

apple cider (divided use)

Dijon mustard

sage

apples

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

In a large skillet melt 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Season the pork generously with salt and pepper; cook for 6 minutes on each side or until deep golden brown.

Add 1/2 cup of cider to the pan and place in the oven for 10-15 minutes. The bake time depends on the thickness of your chops and your desired level of doneness. I like my pork medium well and bake it for 10 minutes, if you prefer well done, bake for 15 minutes.

While the pork is in the oven, In another skillet, cook the apples in the remaining butter over medium-high for 5 minutes. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of apple cider, turn the heat to high and cook for 1-2 minutes more. Season the apples with salt to taste.

After the pan comes out of the oven transfer the pork to a plate. Whisk the mustard and sage into the cider drippings; season to taste with salt and pepper. Place the apples on the plate with the pork and pour the sauce over the top. Serve.

These pork chops are browned with apple butter, whole grain mustard and deliciously caramelized onions. With only 5 ingredients, this quick and easy recipe is a perfect weeknight meal. 

Apple Butter Pork Chops

onion (super thinly sliced)

smaller honeycrisp apple (thinly sliced)

apple butter

water

mustard

rosemary

sage leaves

Salt and pepper (to taste)

In a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook pork chops until browned, about 3 - 4 minutes per side.

While pork chops are cooking, whisk together apple butter, water, mustard and 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional) in a small bowl.

Remove chops from pan and transfer to a plate. Tent with foil to keep warm.

Add onions, apples, rosemary and sage with a pinch of salt to pan. Sauté until onions have become translucent, stirring occasionally and scraping brown bits from pan, about 5 minutes.

Add apple butter mixture to pan and stir to coat apples and onions.

Return chops to pan and continue cooking until sauce is heated through.

Found this right after I had put my stuffed pork chop in the oven.. it sounded so yummy, I couldn't resist. I made the sauce with my maple apple butter and homemade whole seed mustard, threw it in the microwave so I could use it, found the chop needed more time, and voila! Spooned the sauce on the stuffed chop, baked at 375 for another 10 minutes so it gets to proper temp and enjoyed it thoroughly! Thank you ever so much. My daughter is putting it in her fall menu rotation. She's also severely allergic to milk, so is enjoying your recipes!
