Applesauce Walnut Cake

½ cup room temperature butter

brown sugar

eggs

applesauce

lemon juice

flour

baking soda

cinnamon

cloves

salt

walnuts (chopped)

dates (chopped)

raisins

Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350F.

Spray a 7 inch x 11 inch pan with cooking spray.

In a large bowl cream together the brown sugar and butter until combined well using an electric mixer, or a whisk or fork if by hand.

Add the eggs, applesauce and lemon juice and continue stirring with a mixer or spatula until well mixed.

Next add your dry ingredients including flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ground cloves and salt. Gently mix in an electric mixer or with a spatula until a batter forms.

Now stir in the nuts, dates and raisins until just combined to give your cake a delicious texture.

Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes. Test to make sure your cake is done by inserting a toothpick into the cake. It should come out clean with no batter clinging to it. Sprinkle with powdered sugar to decorate if desired (see notes for tips).

Applesauce Walnut Spice Cake

all-purpose flour

brown sugar (or granulated sugar or coconut sugar)

baking powder

allspice

coconut oil (melted)

Preheat your oven to 350°F.  Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.

Add all the ingredients except the dates and nuts to the bowl of your electric mixer.

Mix on low speed for 1 minute then turn up to medium speed for 2 more minutes.

Stop the mixer and scrape the sides and bottom with a spatula. Add the dates and nuts and stir until combined.

Pour the cake batter into your prepared pan. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes or until done in the center. To test, use a wooden pick or cake tester. When there are no crumbs or dry crumbs on the pick after being inserted into the cake it&#39;s done.

Remove the cake from the oven and cool on a wire rack.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F; spray a 13 x 9 inch baking dish nonstick cooking spray.

In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar; set aside.

In a large bowl, blend cake mix, eggs and applesauce until moist. Beat on high for 2 minutes.

Pour half the batter into the prepared baking dish; sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar; cover with remaining batter.

Take a knife and swirl through the layers.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let cool in pan.  If desired, sprinkle top of cake with powdered sugar.

Easy Applesauce Cake

Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.

Put the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into the baking pan. Use a fork to thoroughly mix the ingredients together.

Use your hands to make a hole in the center of the dry ingredients. Into the hole, crack the egg and add the olive oil, yogurt, applesauce, and vanilla. Use a fork to mix the ingredients together until smooth and blended. Smooth the top of the batter with the side of a butter knife.

Bake until the cake is fairly firm when you press lightly at its center and a toothpick inserted in the middle has no wet batter sticking to it, 25 to 30 minutes.

Remove from the oven and leave on the counter to cool completely, 1 hour. Leave the cake in the pan. Dust with powdered sugar. Cut into pieces and use a small spatula to lift them from the pan.

Old Fashioned Applesauce Cake Recipe

unsalted butter (room temperature)

dark brown sugar (packed)

eggs (room temperature)

applesauce (store-bought

powdered sugar or caramel sauce

Preheat oven to 350ºF (177ºC). Grease and flour a bundt pan or a 9 inch by 9 inch metal baking pan. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, stir together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In bowl of a stand mixer, beat butter and both sugars on low speed until blended.

Increase speed of mixer to medium-high and beat 3 minutes until well combined and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Reduce mixer speed to low and beat in applesauce (don’t worry if the mixture looks curdled, it’s supposed to look that way!).

Beat in flour mixture on low until smooth, scraping bowl occasionally with rubber spatula to ensure it’s fully mixed.

Scrape batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean (bake time is the same for both the bundt pan and the 9×9 pan).

Cool completely on wire rack. Just before serving, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce. Slice and serve!

Lillian's Applesauce Cake

Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 10-inch tube pan with butter or nonstick spray.

Combine shortening and sugar in a large mixing bowl and cream with an electric mixer.

Stir baking soda into the hot applesauce. Mixture might bubble up and turn brown. Add mixture to shortening/sugar mixture and mix to combine.

Sift together flour, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg and mix into shortening mixture. Fold in raisin and nuts.

Transfer mixture to prepared tube pan and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 60-70 minutes. Don't turn cake upside down to cool. Enjoy!

Frosted Applesauce Cake

all purpose flour flour

tsp baking soda

tsp salt

tsp allspice

butter (1 stick, softened)

oz unsweetened applesauce

raisins (or chopped apples)

pecans

chopped pecans or walnuts for topping (optional)

tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.Grease a 13x9 baking dish.

In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together and stir to combine. Add in softened butter and water. Beat for 1 minute.

Add applesauce and egg. Beat for 3 minutes.

Gently stir in raisins and chopped nuts, if using.

Pour into greased baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool on wire rack completely before spreading with frosting and topping with additional nuts, if preferred.

Place all ingredients in a big mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer or electric mixer &amp; beat at medium speed for 3-4 minutes until creamy.

German Applesauce Streusel Cake Recipe

½ Cups Flour (350 gram)

Baking Powder

Cup Sugar (200 gram)

Cup Butter (room temperature) (220 gram)

Applesauce (approx. 680 gram)

Tablespoons Cornstarch

Vanilla

Cinnamon powder

Preheat the oven to 350°F

In a mixer or food processor or bowl... combine the flour, baking powder, and sugar. Slowly add the butter 1 Tablespoon at a time. Pulse/mix/cut the butter into the dry ingredients. You want it to look like wet sand... and clump when you pinch it.

Divide this streusel mixture into ⅔ and ⅓. Press the ⅔ into the bottom and approximately 1 to 1½ inches up the side of a springform pan. You don&#39;t want it TOO thick in the corners, so press it in. Thickness should be about ¼ - ⅓ inch across bottom and sides.

Bake this for 15 minutes

While the shell is baking, combine the Applesauce, Cornstarch, Vanilla Extract, and Cinnamon in a medium bowl. Make sure not to leave any lumps of cinnamon or cornstarch.

Add the applesauce mixture to the pre-baked shell.

Crumble the rest of the streusel mixture over the applesauce evenly. Use your fist to squeeze it so you get bigger bits as well as just crumbs.

Bake 35 minutes.

Remove from oven and let cool on a rack.

In a mixing bowl, take applesauce, oil and sugar.

With a wired whisk, stir this mixture so well that the oil is incorporated evenly.

Now add the apple cider vinegar or regular vinegar or lemon juice to this wet mixture.

Preheat the oven for 15 minutes at 180 degrees C/356 degrees F before you begin baking the cake.

Sieve the dry ingredients - all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder and a pinch of salt directly in the bowl having the wet ingredients.

Add vanilla powder or scraped vanilla bean or vanilla extract.

Fold the dry ingredients in the wet ingredients lightly. Don't over do.

The batter should feel light.

Pour the batter in the prepared pan.

Bake at 180 degrees C/356 degrees F in a preheated oven for 35 to 40 mins.

Once baked and a toothpick inserted comes out clean, remove the cake from the pan after it cools a bit and then place on a wired rack or tray for the sponge cake to cool down.

Each oven has a different baking time, so keep this in mind. The cake can take less or more time in your oven to bake.

An old fashioned, super soft, incredibly moist cake that&#39;s brimming with spices and has a tasty light apple flavor. It&#39;s much like carrot cake and absolutely delicious!

Applesauce Cake

(318 g) all-purpose flour

tsp baking powder

ginger

(150 g) granulated sugar

(490 g) unsweetened applesauce

(175 ml) vegetable oil (or canola oil)

cream cheese, (nearly at room temperature)

Tbsp (85 g) butter, (soft)

(360 g) powdered sugar

To make the applesauce cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13 by 9-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice for 30 seconds. Make a well in the center and set aside.

To a separate large mixing bowl add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Using an electric hand mixer beat on medium speed until fairly pale and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

Add applesauce, vegetable oil and 1 tsp vanilla extract to sugar mixture and blend with hand mixer until combined.

Pour applesauce mixture into well in flour mixture then gently fold and stir mixture just until there&#39;s no longer streaks or pockets of flour. Mixture will be lumpy and that&#39;s okay.

Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. Wiggle pan to level batter out even.

Bake in preheated oven until toothpick inserted into center comes out free of batter (a moist crumb or two is fine), about 30 to 40 minutes.

Let cake cool on a wire rack (to speed up cooling you can cool in the fridge).

To make the cream cheese frosting: Add cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar and vanilla to a large mixing bowl.

Using an electric hand mixer (with clean beater blades), blend mixture on low speed until combined. Then increase speed to high and whip for several minutes until light and fluffy.

If needed you can freeze the frosting in 3 minute increments, stirring between intervals, until it&#39;s firmed up some.

Frost cake with cream cheese frosting then cut into slices.

Made many times. Added walnuts,  chopped In ninja and raisins. My husband likes it that way. Also used coconut oil.

Ridiculously Easy Applesauce Cake

apple sauce

raisins or currants ((optional))

butter

half & half (maybe a bit more)

vanilla bean paste

almond extract

Heat the oven to 350˚F. Generously spray a 15x10-inch pan with baking spray. Rub with a paper towel to make sure all the surfaces are coated then spray again lightly. If using round cake pans, Spray with baking spray then line each pan with a round of parchment paper.

Combine the applesauce, oil, sugars, eggs and vanilla in a medium-size bowl. Whisk together until nice and smooth. Add the cinnamon, ginger, cloves, baking soda and salt and whisk until well incorporated.

Add the flour and whisk just until all of the flour is incorporated. Stir in the raisins, if using.

Transfer the batter to the prepared pan(s). Bake the sheet pan cake for 18-22 minutes OR until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or the temperature in the center of the cake is 200-205˚F (93-96˚C). The round cakes will take 25-35 minutes. Use the same testing to determine doneness.

Allow the cake(s) to cool completely before icing. If using the round cake pans, allow the cakes to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then invert onto a cooling rack to finish cooling.

For the cake:

Combine soft butter, half and half, vanilla bean paste and almond extract in a medium-size bowl and stir to combine. Add 2 cups of the powdered sugar and whisk together until nice and creamy.

Add the remaining 1½ cups powdered sugar and whisk until smooth. You want a nice spreadable consistency. If the icing seems too thin, add a bit more powdered sugar, if too thick, add more half and half, one teaspoon at a time.

Frost the cake(s) and enjoy!
