Super Easy Sesame Beef. Tender flank steak stir fried with red peppers and green onions. Better and healthier than takeout!

Sesame Beef

flank steak (sliced

soy sauce

brown sugar

water

sesame oil

garlic (minced)

red bell pepper (sliced)

cornstarch

green onions (sliced)

sesame seeds

dark soy sauce

flank steak

Red Bell Pepper

sesame seed

*NOTE: Prep time does not include marinating time*

Add both soy sauces, brown sugar and water to a medium bowl and stir to combine.

Pour half of the sauce into another bowl and set aside. (We will be using this when we cook the beef)

Add steak to the other 1/2 of the sauce and marinade for at least 30 minutes or overnight.

When you are ready to cook add sesame oil to a large skillet or wok.

Add in garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Remove steak from marinade and saute for about 1-2 minutes on each side. (You want the pan to be very hot so the steak cooks quickly and browns.

Add red bell pepper and saute for 1 minute.

Add in the reserved sauce and bring to a simmer.

In a small bowl combine cornstarch and water.

Slowly add cornstarch mixture to pan. Continuously stir until sauce is thickened, about 1 minute.

Serve immediately with green onions and sesame seeds for garnish if desired.

Easy Sesame Beef

Crockpot Mongolian beef combines a popular dish with a hands-off cooking method. Enjoy sweet and spicy flavors for an easy weeknight meal!

Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef (Easy Dinner Recipe)

garlic

ginger paste

Sriracha

beef broth

green onions (sliced diagonally)

Slice flank steak against the grain into thin slices. (If you prefer thicker slices, they will work in the slow cooker, as the slow and low heat will still make them nice and tender.)

Place the steak slices in a bowl and toss with cornstarch to coat most of the pieces.

Spread steak pieces evenly across the bottom of a slow cooker.

Whisk together sesame oil, garlic, ginger, Sriracha, soy sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth until combined. Pour sauce over the steak and stir gently.

Cover with a lid and cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or LOW for 5-6 hours.

The dish is done cooking when the sauce starts to caramelize around the edges of the slow cooker. The meat should be tender. If you overcook, the meat becomes SO tender that it starts to break apart into smaller pieces. Exact cook time will vary depending on your slow cooker and the thickness of the sliced meat.

Garnish with green onions and/or toasted sesame seeds.

I will never make mongolian beef another way! This was amazing and so so easy to make.

This Black Pepper Ground Beef is super simple to make while also being very easy to make! It's an easy, high protein dinner you can make in a single pan while still having all the flavors a classic takeout dish!

Black Pepper Ground Beef

ground beef

garlic (finely minced)

onion

scallions

tbsp dark soy sauce

tbsp light soy sauce

oyster sauce

tbsp Shaoxing wine

sugar

tsp black pepper

rice (for serving)

cucumbers

black pepper

Finely mince the garlic, cut the onion into thick wedges, and slice the scallions into ½-inch pieces, separating the whites and greens.

In a small bowl, combine dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly and set aside.

Heat a pan with a bit of oil, then add the garlic, onions, and scallion whites. Cook until softened and fragrant.

Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 5 minutes or until mostly browned.

Pour in the sauce and continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.

Finish by adding the scallion greens and cook just until wilted.

Serve the Black Pepper Ground Beef over a fresh bowl of rice and optionally garnish with cucumbers and extra black pepper.

I made this recipe as written except I doubled the sauce. I love your recipes bc the ingredients are my pantry staples. Thank you !

Made this for meal prep for the second time. I only have a 4 oz stomach, so the ground beef is cut in half, only 8 oz and with rice vermicelli (3 small bundles of 3 ladies brand), I’ll get at least 4 meals out of this. Even though I cut the meat in half, I kept it at 1/2 an onion and used 6 scallions. Since I used rice vermicelli, I doubled the sauce. Once the noodles were cooked, everything went back in the wok to marry it all together. It didn’t dry out after stir frying together, but I had beef broth at the ready just in case. It came out perfect! I highly recommend this recipe. Oh, and for meal prep, it reheats beautifully with a little beef broth in the microwave.

Tastes delicious!! One of my go to recipes for ground beef!
