This creamy avocado hummus packs flavor from garlic, lime juice, cumin and a pinch of caynne. Perfect  with just a drizzle of good extra virgin olive oil. But if you want to go the extra step, jazz things up by adding the slasa verde on top or next to it. Bring on the chips! Be sure to read the recipe notes.

Avocado Hummus Recipe 

garlic

chickpeas, drained (or roughly 2 cups cooked chickpeas)

medium ripe avocados, roughly chopped

tbsp Greek Yogurt (omit if vegan)

tbsp tahini

salt

tsp cumin

cayenne pepper

lime, juice of, more to your liking

Liquid from canned chickpeas, if needed

In a large food processor, fitted with a blade, add the hummus ingredients (garlic, chickpeas, avocados, Greek yogurt, tahini, salt, cumin, cayenne and lime juice). Run the food processor to blend until the hummus mixture is smooth.

Test, and if it's too thick, add a very little bit of the chickpeas canning liquid. Run the processor again until you achieve the desired creamy consistency.  Adjust seasoning as needed.

Transfer the avocado hummus to a serving dish and cover tightly with plastic wrap (if you press the plastic warp well, it will help prevent air from changing the color of the avocado hummus). Chill a few minutes before serving. Uncover and smooth the surface of the hummus and drizzle a bit of extra virgin olive oil. Garnish with fresh parsley or another herb if you like.

I don't have any yogurt (not a fan), so I'm going to try adding Kewpie mayonnaise (BIG FAN!) instead. Believe it or not, I don't have any bread, but I DO have a rotisserie chicken, so I'm going to make a chicken salad with the avocado hummus (and a bit more Kewpie mayo) and green onions. I have a nice fresh cucumber on the side, to be sliced and topped with the salad. I agree about the lime juice and will add the juice of one lime, plus zesting it first in case I need more lime flavor. I think I'll use Aleppo pepper. I'm not a fan of healthy food (LOL), but I'll make an exception in this case.

I drained the liquid from the can. Then I read your recipe that said to add more liquid if it was too thick. But it was already drained. It was in my drain. I had to call my plumbing company because I wanted to retrieve some liquid. This is a very expensive recipe - the plumber charged me $220 and then he ate ALL of the hummus. I am in awe I have no more hummus. Anyways the plumber liked it so I suppose it deserves 5 stars.

Avocado Hummus

(400 grams) cooked chickpeas (drained

avocados (ripe)

tahini paste

lemon juice

extra virgin olive oil

cumin

¼ teaspoon sumac (optional)

¼ teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

¼ teaspoon nigella seeds (optional)

microgreens (optional)

Get all of your ingredients, and put them in the food processor. Pulse mixture until you get a very smooth dip (it&#039;s ok to run the food processor for around 5 minutes to get a super smooth dip).

Depending on how smooth you like your hummus to be, add water but really carefully as you don&#039;t want to thin the hummus out too much.

Add to a bowl, and spread it out using a spoon. Drizzle with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil, and garnish with sumac, sesame seeds, nigella seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pomegranate seeds, or whatever you have available.

Avocado hummus is the best version of hummus! It's so rich, super creamy, and absolutely delicious! Think hummus meets guacamole, I can't think of a combination that's better. A perfect snack to go with chips, crackers, veggie sticks, or even to be used as a spread to make delicious sandwiches.

Creamy Avocado Hummus

Avocado Hummus will be the most genius thing you've made this year. 

c. canned chickpeas

avocados,

tahini

c. lime juice

tbsp. olive oil,

kosher salt

tbsp. Chopped cilantro, for garnish

Red pepper flakes,

Combine chickpeas, avocados, tahini, lime juice, garlic, olive oil and cumin in the bowl of a food processor and season with salt. Blend until smooth.

Pour mixture into serving bowl and garnish with cilantro and red pepper flakes. Drizzle with more olive oil if desired and serve.

SO SUPER AMAZING... using it as a veggie dip, but may have to use it on a salad... or just straight off a spoon!  I put a little dill weed and cayenne in it.  Will definitely be a go to for quite awhile!

We Can't Get Enough Of This Avocado Hummus

(upbeat music) - [Woman] Okay, save the avocados. (people talking) - Avacado.

Make this amazing oil-free Avocado Hummus for your next party or to spice up your burritos or tacos!

white beans (drained and rinsed (Great Northern, cannellini, etc.)

cumin (use less if you aren't a big fan)

chili powder

garlic cloves, minced

jalapeno slices (9 grams)

(45 grams) fresh lime juice

(15 grams) hot water

(40 grams) runny/drippy roasted tahini

(240 grams) sliced avocado (1 1/2 large avocado)

spinach

Add all of the ingredients to a food processor and process for several minutes, scraping the sides during a couple of times. Process until completely smooth. The longer you run it, the smoother it will be.

Taste and add any extra salt or jalapenos if desired. This hummus is a beige/very light touch of green, so add the optional spinach if you desire a bolder green as in the photos. This is not for taste, but for presentation only. Garnish with extra jalapeno slices and fresh limes for serving. This hummus is delicious with chips, on toast or in tacos/burritos.

I made this yesterday and under estimated the time to prep the canned chickpeas.  My wife was surprised that had the patience to power through.  The hummus was awesome.  I had it this morning on a toasted English muffin and yesterday with some carrots.

Garbanzo Beans

Cup Avocado Oil

Cup Tahini

Tsp Cumin, ground

Tsp Sea Salt

Tsp Black Pepper, ground

Tbsp Avocado Oil

Blend all ingredients, minus the toasted garbanzo beans and the tablespoon of avocado oil, together with the liquid from the can of garbanzo beans.

Serve the hummus in a medium-sized bowl, and garnish with a drizzle of avocado oil and toasted garbanzo beans.
