Bacon Wrapped Asparagus is one of the best recipes for easy entertaining! Cook it in the oven, on the grill, or stove. Crispy and flavorful every time!

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

asparagus spears (trimmed (about 20 to 24 spears))

bacon

Place a rack in the center of your oven and preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. For easy cleanup, line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place the asparagus in a large bowl or on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with the olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss to coat. Count the spears and divide the total number by 8. Gather that number of spears (likely 2 to 4 spears, depending upon their thickness) and hold them together in a single bundle. Starting midway to the top, wrap the bundle with one piece of bacon (overlap the starting end of the bacon slightly to secure it) and place the bundle on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down. Repeat with the remaining spears.

Bake until the bacon is crisp and the asparagus is tender, about 22 to 28 minutes, depending upon the thickness of your bacon and how crisp you’d like it to be. Serve warm or at room temperature.

AIR FRYER BACON WRAPPED ASPARAGUS

asparagus spears ((about 30 spears total))

garlic powder

paprika

tsp kosher salt

tsp black pepper

red pepper flakes ((optional))

Wash and trim off the woody part of the asparagus spears. Tip: If you hold an asparagus spear between two fingers and bend it lightly, the asparagus will naturally bend at the part that needs to be removed. You can snap it right off. Dry the asparagus with paper towels.

Add trimmed asparagus spears to a medium bowl. Add olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, kosher salt, freshly cracked black pepper and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Mix until the asparagus spears are coated.

Separate the asparagus spears into 6 individual bundles. Take a piece of bacon and wrap it around each bundle.

Place the asparagus bundles in your air fryer basket. This may need to be done in batches if you have a smaller air fryer basket. Note: Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket or the air will be unable to circulate to properly cook the asparagus.

Air fry at 360F degrees for 10-15 minutes or until the bacon is cooked to your liking.

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus are a quick and easy side dish recipe. These can be made in the oven, stove top, grill or air fryer. Find all the cooking methods below.

lbs Asparagus Spears (trimmed (about 24 spears))

Thick Cut Bacon

tsp Cracked Black Pepper

tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

oz Cream Cheese (cut into 1" cubes)

Trim the Asparagus: Arrange the Asparagus in a single line. Trim off 1 to 1 1/2 inches from the end and discard away the stalk which will be dry and whitish in color or just take it between your forefinger and thumb, and snap the dry woody part.

Toss with Olive Oil & Black Pepper: Place these Asparagus in a sheet pan. Drizzle Olive Oil and cracked Black Pepper on top. Toss to combine everything.

Wrap with Bacon: Divide the Asparagus into bundle of eight (since we have eight bacon strips). You can use 2-4 Asparagus spears in one bundle, it all depends on the thickness of the spear. Place a small cube of Cream Cheese in center and then bundle up the Asparagus. Start wrapping a single strip of Bacon from the midpoint and go all the way up to the top. Slightly overlap the starting point to secure the bundle. Repeat with the remaining bundles. Place these Bacon Wrapped Asparagus bundles in the sheet pan, seam side down.

Grill: If you need to Grill these Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Bundles, place them on a hot grill and grill for 10-12 min

Air Fryer: Place these Asparagus Bundles in the Air Fryer and cook @400°F for 10-12 minutes. Flip and cook the other side for 8 more minutes.

Oven: Place these Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Bundles in a sheet pan. Bake @400F for 15-20 minutes.

Stove: Heat a large non stick skillet. Drizzle Olive Oil. As the oil shimmers, add the Bacon Wrapped Asparagus bundles in the skillet, as much fits, seam side down and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the Bacon browns. Flip and cook the other side as well, until the Bacon browns and the Asparagus tenderizes.

Serve it hot or at room temperature.

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Trim the woody ends from the asparagus and pat dry with paper towels.

In a large bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until lightly coated.

Gather 3–4 asparagus spears together and wrap one slice of bacon tightly around each bundle, starting just below the tips and spiraling downward. Place the bundles seam-side down on the baking sheet.

Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bacon is crisp and the asparagus is tender. For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end while watching closely.

Remove from the oven and transfer to a serving platter. Optionally drizzle with balsamic glaze or sprinkle with parmesan cheese before serving warm.

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus (Super Crispy)

Asparagus ((~10 oz trimmed))

Bacon

Olive oil

tsp Garlic salt

tsp Black pepper

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C). Place an oven-safe wire rack (either greased or non-stick) over a baking sheet. (I use a set like this.)

Trim the woody ends of the asparagus. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic salt and black pepper to taste. (You don't need a lot of oil, just enough for the salt and pepper to stick.)

Cut the bacon slices lengthwise to make narrower strips. Wrap each bacon strip tightly around an asparagus stalk, trying not to overlap the bacon on each stalk (it will shrink during cooking, creating a "striped" pattern). Place seam side down onto the wire rack.

Bake for 10 minutes. Use tongs to turn over. Bake for another 5-10 minutes, until the bacon is almost crispy. Set the oven to broil, then place under the broiler for 1-2 minutes to crisp up more.

Absolutely delicious! I made these tonight and I felt like I could have eaten the whole batch by myself. They were that good.

Love easy side dishes. Especially when bacon is included in this recipe, just tastes extra crispy and juicy. My family was delighted when I introduced them to this side dish.

Delicious asparagus, and the bacon turned out crispy, as you indicated. I would offer a modified time of prep as 20 minutes minimum, unless I missed a tip on how to wrap the asparagus in less time. It is a good amount of work for an exquisite result!

I made this recipe last weekend and my family loved it.

Very good! Brushed with a touch of maple syrup when I took it out and we all loved it!

Love, Love your recipes. They are easy to follow and ingredients that are easy to get. You have a wide variety of GREAT recipes. Thank you so very much.

This was excellent! Thank you so much! I didn’t read the directions, so I cooked both first then to cook them, I just laid the bacon across the asparagus. It was still good. Thank you again!!😊

Thank you Maya! The idea of using a wire rack totally took it new heights.
