Bacon Wrapped Smokies

14 Ounce Package Smoked Lil Smokies

Slices Bacon (Uncooked, Cut Into Thirds)

Cup Brown Sugar

Teaspoons Dried Cayenne Powder

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.&nbsp;(For an alternate cooking method try bacon wrapped smokies in air fryer)

Wrap each smokie with a bacon piece, overlapping ends, then securing with a toothpick.

Mix brown sugar and cayenne pepper in a shallow bowl then firmly press each smokie in mixture, coating generously.

Place in a single layer on prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until bacon is browned. Flip the sausages and continue to cook another 20-30 minutes or until bacon is browned on the second side.

Remove from oven, and serve. CAUTION: These little buggers will be HOT, in more ways than one, so a little cooldown period is advised.

Honey Glazed Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

Dry smokies

Dry lil smokies with a paper towel to get rid of excess liquid.

Cut bacon

Cut each piece of bacon into three pieces to give you 36 sections for wrapping.

Wrap smokies

Wrap each lil smokie with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick once wrapped. Place wrapped smokies on the prepared baking sheet.

Make glaze

Whisk together hot honey, brown sugar, water, and cayenne pepper - if using - until well combined. Brush it on top of the lil smokies with a basting brush.

Bake

Flip

Remove from oven and flip lil smokies. Brush the other side with any remaining glaze.

Bake again

Bake for another 10-15 minutes depending on how crispy you want your bacon. Start checking them at about 8 minutes.

Remove

Remove from the oven and let the smokies cool slightly before removing the toothpicks, if removing, or serve warm with toothpicks for serving.
