Chocolate almond butter banana bites make for the perfect healthy sweet treat! Two slices are sandwiched together with almond butter, then dipped in chocolate. Watch how I make them in the video above!Recipe adapted from Eating Bird Food.

Chocolate Almond Butter Banana Bites

bananas

almond butter

chocolate chips

coconut oil (optional)

chia seeds (optional)

Prep

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then set aside.

Slice

Peel and slice the bananas into rounds about 1/4 inch thick. You don&#039;t want them too thick, otherwise the bites will be very thick to bite into when sandwiched together.

Spread

Place half of the banana slices on the baking sheet and spread a layer of almond butter on top. If you&#039;d like to add chia seeds to the almond butter (which I recommend), stir that into the almond butter before topping on the banana slices.

Place another banana slice on top to create a mini sandwich. Repeat this for the rest of the banana slices.

Freeze

Freeze the banana bites until solid, about an hour.

Melt

Add the chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the mixture in 20 second increments, stirring in between until it&#039;s silky smooth. If you&#039;d like to add coconut oil to make the chocolate a little softer and more dip-able (see tip above) you can add it here and stir with the chocolate.

Remove the frozen banana bites from the freezer. Dip each frozen banana bite into the melted chocolate so that half of each bite is coated. Then place it back on the baking sheet.

Place both baking sheets back into the freezer to let the chocolate harden.

Store

Once frozen, you&#039;re ready to enjoy or store away in freezer safe containers for up to 1-2 months.

Chocolate almond butter banana bites make for the perfect healthy sweet treat. Frozen banana slices are layered with almond butter, then gently dipped in a thin layer of chocolate.

Get your chocolate fix with homemade frozen chocolate banana bites. With only three ingredients, this is the easiest snack you’ll ever make.

Frozen Chocolate Banana Bites

Tbsp coconut oil

Slice bananas into 1/2-inch pieces. Cover a baking sheet in parchment paper or waxed paper to prevent sticking. Arrange banana slices flat on baking sheet without touching, and freeze for at least 30 minutes.

Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted. Or, melt on the stove in a double boiler.

Place one banana slice on a fork and dip into the chocolate. I like to keep the slice on the fork and submerge it, then lift it out to let any excess chocolate drain through the fork tongs.

You can also use a spoon to coat the banana on a tray if that works best for you. Just be sure to chill and then flip to coat the other side of the slices if you use the tray method.

Place coated slice back on the prepared baking sheet, and repeat with the remaining slices. Place baking sheet back in the freezer for another 30 minutes.

Transfer to a freezer-safe storage container and store for up to 3 weeks.

If you’ve ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know I have a “Frozen Treats Obsession“, and BANANAS are probably my MOST FAVORITE frozen treat! (Followed closely by FROZEN GRAPES!) I normally peel bananas, skewer them with a popsicle stick and put them in the freezer on a cookie sheet. The absolute BEST snack!
