tbsp all purpose flour

tsp baking powder

light brown sugar

milk (or milk substitute)

tbsp vegetable or canola oil

vanilla

banana

cinnamon

Combine all ingredients into microwave-safe mug (that can hold at least 8 oz of liquid). Mix ingredients with a small whisk until batter is smooth.

Cook in the microwave at full power for approximately 1 minute and 10 seconds. Let cake cool a few minutes before eating.

½ tablespoons vegan mini chocolate chips

Mash part of a ripe banana and measure out ¼ cup. Place the ¼ cup of mashed banana in a bowl.

Mix in the maple syrup and peanut butter.

Mix in the baking powder.

Mix in the oat flour.

Mix in the chocolate chips.

Once everything is combined, pour the batter into a ramekin and microwave for 1 minute.

Healthy Oatmeal Banana Mug Cake

Add all of the ingredients except for the chocolate chips to a small blender. I use my Magic  Bullet, but a NutriBullet or any blender with a small carafe works. Note: If you’re making mug cakes for two people, double the recipe and use a regular sized blender.

Blend until everything is completely combined and it appears as though all of the oats are well blended. Stir the chocolate chips into the batter.

Pour the batter into a microwave-safe mug. To be safe, use a large mug to avoid any overflow.

If you’d like, sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top of the batter. If you’re adding a tablespoon of butter, drop it into the center of the batter now.

Microwave for 3 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through.

Enjoy the mug cake as is, or drizzle with a little honey or pure maple syrup and add a pat of butter.

In bowl, or mug itself mix together your flour, sugar and baking powder and salt.

Stir in your butter, milk, banana, egg and vanilla until combined.

Microwave for 3 minutes, checking halfway through.

Let sit to cool.

Combine all ingredients in small bowl and microwave until bubbly.

You may need to stop a few times as this likes to bubble very quickly.

Keep microwaving for about 30 seconds to 1 minutes.

Stir to combine completely.

Drizzle over the top of the cake.

Top with sliced bananas if desired and enjoy!

GLAZE

A little too sweet...so will reduce sugar next time...great without the glaze.

This is by far my favorite mug cake recipe. I have cut sugar down to two tablespoons, and instead of the glaze, I dot the top of the batter with butter, about a teaspoon and then sprinkle with about two teaspoons brown sugar. This creates a little ooey gooeyness that I love. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

I enjoy this mug cake and I made this at 17 seventeen even though this is the easiest recipe I made compared to homemade pasta and churros. I would share this with friends and family in a rush great for a quick breakfast on the go. I would say it is a little sweet so nice time I'll dial the sugar back but overall fantastically good. Very good but nutrition values are horrible!

This was excellent! I almost always have over-ripe bananas, so this recipe will be in my dessert rotation. I put some hot fudge sauce on top (straight from the ‘frig). Yummy!

I split the batter into two ramekins and air fried them to “bake” this - SO good! Keeping this recipe for sure!

I added some chopped nuts the second time I made this and also reduced the sugar by half.  Delicious!

OMG! I...just...can't! This was absolutely fantastic. I made it keto by using almond flour, Truvia Brown sugar and almond milk and it was SO GOOD. Moist, sweet and perfectly balanced banana flavor. I used Truvia Brown sugar in the glaze as well and added chopped walnuts. This was the best mug cake I have ever made. Thank you so much for the recipe!

I made this for breakfast this morning for my 2 kiddos. I made some substitutions to make it dairy free for an allergy, but it was excellent!
